I keep hearing mixed things, are they or are they not allowing fish extenders? Please someone who has sailed in the last month... what did you see while on the ship.

We sailed last week and walked the decks to look at magnets.
Saw 2 fish extenders......so not really sure what was going on with them.
Never saw anything in them

Could be the two rooms were linked and they were doing their own FE exchange.

We got one for our two grandsons- we are in connecting rooms with my daughter and her family. I had thought we’d just hang it inside their room on a magnet hook, but it seems more exciting to have it on the door if it is allowed. I guess I can ask when I board-

Do you think I would be able to put some Christmas magnets on other people's decorated doors?

I don't know what a fish extender is but people left pins, magnets, toys, and cards outside of our door. My kids took them. :confused3

This says that door-to-door gift exchanges are not allowed. It doesn't say that I cant hang a fish extender for other purposes, such as leaving notes/other things for other people in my party

I did not think the question was about leaving a note for someone you are already traveling with. The question was about Disney's current policy and I provided a link.

I would suggest hanging it from the wall hooks in your room instead of out on the door if you are just leaving things for your own party. Why risk it getting confiscated?

I had read where guests were being asked to remove their fish extenders.

I'm sure DCL wouldn't confiscate it. I can imagine them either asking a guest to remove it, or having a stateroom host place it inside the stateroom, possibly with a note.

DVC left big magnets on the doors that had a lot of smaller ones that detach.
I did leave some of those on doors of family members
