DD frequently says that she wants a small cage rodent as a pet; a hamster or such. I keep reminding her that she already has two cats, and as far as they are concerned, rodents in a cage is the equivalent of a buffet line.

That's my daughter's fish and I really have no idea about it much. She takes care of that fish like a baby.

DDs wanted a cat many years ago, but we always already had “cat food” as pets at the time. Fish, parakeets, hamsters, etc.

We had two cats and a guinea pig at the same time, and I swear the cats were more scared of him than he was of them.

We had two cats and a guinea pig at the same time,

At one point my DD had 3 cats and a guinea pig at her house. The cats would literally sleep on top of the guinea pig's cage. There are only two cats now, and the GP has survived for over a year in this this sitch. I still don't think it's ideal, but my youngest DGD insisted on having the guinea pig.
