Fish and Chips at Rose & Crown?

What do you think of the fish and chips at Rose & Crown? Delicious? Mediocre? Bad?
I'm asking because last year I ordered a fried fish type meal from the ABC Commissary at Hollywood Studios and honestly thought it tasted horrible. If all fried fish/fish and chips at WDW tastes like this I don't think I'd want to get it again. I thought that since the Rose and Crown is a completely different restaurant and is a TS that the fish might be a bit better. So is the fish and chips meal at Rose and crown any good?

I wouldn't judge all the Fish & Chips at WDW by what you got at ABC Commissary. That place gets consistently poor reviews of all the counter service places at WDW.

FWIW, I've enjoyed the Fish & Chips at R&C several times - just not anything recent.

I find the fish and chips to greasy. I have had much better. I love the atmosphere at the Rose and Crown but find the food just average.

We thought they were delicious. But honestly, we liked the fish & chips at the walk-up-stand/restaurant next to Rose & Crown better.

My family didn't care for the fish & chips at R&C. The chips were soggy and the fish was overcooked and greasy. I had to use a steak knife to cut through the batter, it was so tough. It gives me a stomach ache just thinking about it.

Mine have been perfect the two times I had them. However, it is a HUGE portion and I can never finish them.

Maybe I better cancel my ADR then. The only reason I wanted to go to the R&C was for the Fish and Chips. Of course, i wanted to enjoy the atmosphere, but my kids don't want to go there anyway.

Maybe I should just go to the counter service next to the R&C for the food and let the kids get what they want from another CS restaurant. So disappointing to hear not glowing reviews of the F&C. Bummer.

I agree that the f&c at the takeout spot is great - never had it at Rose & Crown. Also, we ordered it at a place in MK and it was terrible (Columbia Harbor House, I think).

My DH and I both had the F&C on our last trip at R&C and we LOVED it. Not greasy at all. I think like any place it will have it's good and bad days. I wouldn't cancel if you really want to try it. You may love the fish and chips. It is a great place to eat especailly if you can get outside for illuminations.

This is going to sound ridiculous but....I found them to be too authentic. lol I really like my grocery store Gorton's fish sticks/patties better. But that's just me. Bring on the chips though! lol
