My husband and I got married Disney Wedding Pavilion with a reception at Living Seas(within Epcot) on May 19, 2008. With our AP burin a hole in our pockets, we decided to turn my husband work trip into a longer trip and spend a few days at WDW. It was a last min. trip, so getting dinner reservations was hard, but we made it. lol

Thursday April 30th,
We flew out of Atlanta at 7:00 am with a stop over in Charlotte. We learned something in Charlotte, just because your boarding passes were printed an hour and half before you were to catch your second flight, always check the monitors to see which gate you should go to. We didn't do this and went to the gate printed on our second boarding pass and had to make a rather fast dash to the new gate. Lesson learned. lol In the end we got on our plane and we happily on our way to Walt Disney World.

Landed at MCO at 11:00 am, we were set up to use DME. Before leaving home we decided to take an extra piece of luggage so I was short a DME tag, so we went to baggage to grab that one bag. I can see how helpful it is to not have to go to baggage. So next time I will make sure that I have three luggage tags just in case. Check at DME was simple and easy. I had the packet they sent, they scanned it, told us what line to wait in and we did so. While waiting in line we had a nice chat with a family. I can't say the wait was long although I didn't time it. Im guessing under 15 min. The family before us was the first people in line and I think they were there for 5 min or so. When our line was told we could board, it went very smoothly. We were escorted to our bus, they took what ever luggage you had and asked where you were staying. Then you boarded a nice air conditions bus and got comfy for the ride to your resort. Our bus driver was really nice, he told us to relax and enjoy the ride, we would reach WDW in about 30 min. While cruising to our resort they played a welcome video, which was nice to watch. We stopped at Carobineen Beach first. Wasn't there long a few families got off, but it seemed pretty easy. Then it was off to Pop, our stop. When we got off the bus, my husband waited for our bags as I went to check in.

I didn't check us in on line before we left, because I wasn't sure if it was a good idea or not. But the wait wasn't long, just one family in front of me. There were three CM at the desk to check us in. When it was my turn, the CM was very friendly and nice. We had requested a king bed, due to I have a bad back. The CM in formed us that a King wasn't available for our first night, but was available our second night and for the rest of our stay. Would we like to switch rooms? We said yes. CM asked us when our luggage would be ready for pcik up in the morning? I was a bit confused, due to when I have switched rooms at Boardwalk Inn, we had to call a bell man. Well not at Pop. He said that if we had all our stuff in bags and sitting by the door, he would have someone gather our stuff, store it, and when our new room was ready our stuff would then be placed in the new room. I was so shocked with such wonderful service. I had found on our last trip that moving rooms was really a pain. But Pop made it painless.

At check in, which I think was about 12:30 pm, we were told our room was ready. So we got our keys and took off to find our room. We were in the 90's, building 10 on the first floor. It was a bit of a walk for me with a bad back. But what can you do. We dropped off our stuff and gather what we wanted to take with us and headed the food court.

The food court wasn't busy when we there. Looked at the menus and chose the shortest line, due to we were that hungry. We both got bacon cheese burgers, which comes with fries, grabbed our re-fillable mugs. We both enjoyed our lunch. Once lunch was over and we re-filled our mugs. We were off to Down Town Disney. I had left my sunglasses at home and needed to pick up a pair. The whole trip we didn't wait more then 10 min for a bus. It was wonderful and way better then our last trip, where we waited over an hour and half for a bus from Boardwalk Inn to Down Town Disney.

Once at Down Town Disney, we enjoyed the shops. Spent about 4 hours there, grab dinner and then headed to the Grand Floitian, where I had ordered a re-creation of our wedding cake topper. (we had a Wishes wedding at WDW in May 08 and it was to hard to take our top layer of the cake home, so we didn't) Anyhow, got the GF, got our cake. Headed back to Pop, by taking the monorail to MK and then a bus back.

Back at Pop, we got some plates and forks, grab a table so we could enjoy our annivery cake. It was yummy, chocolate cake, with peanut butter moose. We got some looks at first, I got the feeling people were wondering where we got the cake. On top of the cake it said Happy Annivery and once people read it they gave us cute smiles. The cake did just fine the 5 days were there with out being refrigerated. I had brought tupperware so that we could take some cake with us each day into the parks and that worked out perfectly.

Friday May 1

Today started off with Chef Mickey at 9:30 am. We got up, got ready, packed our bags, sat them by the door and we were off. Took a bus to MK and walked to the Contemporary. We were about 30 min early, so we looked around and relaxed. Had a nice chat with a DVC CM and then when it was time we got in what I was told was a short line for Chef Mickey. We got our pager, took our photo and and relaxed on the couch. We had been waiting for awhile, but I though we waited to long, with a check in at 9:15, for a 9:30 reservation, and it was now 9:45. I was wondering why we were not sat. So I went up and chatted with the CM, saying when our reservation time was. She said we were up soon. About 2-3 min later our pager went off and we were sat. Not the greatest table, sort of felt like we were in a walk way area, but hey who cares. We waited to order our drinks and off to the buffet. This was our first time at CM and I have to say I really enjoyed the food. Its noise in there, they music is loud, but you expect it, its a family place. They came around with our photos and I really wanted to buy it, but it wsa $30.00. I know you get a 5x7 and 4 4x6. I still think that is to high for 5 photos of the same posse and really who would i give it too? So we passed. I said to my husband, we do this again when we had kids and get the photo. He knew I really wanted it, but really $30 could be spend in better ways. Like shopping. lol

After Chef Mickeys, we were off to the monorail and on to MK. My husband gets a rash on the lower part of his legs due to the heat bouncing off the ground, so we stopped by first aid to see if there was something we could do. They gave us something to put on it and said to keep it covered up. With the late start and dinner resercation in Epcot at 5:30, and with Space Mt and People Mover down, there wasn't much in Tomorrowland we wanted, so we headed off to get a fast pass for Big Thunder and then went to Tom Sawyer Island. My husband loves to explore and we didn't get to TS island last year, so it was perfect. I relaxed while he went exploring. He came back for me and we went to the fort. Thats where we found a checkers board. We ate the snakes we had brought and sodas while playing a few games of checkers. It was really nice. Its now about 2:30, so we headed to Big Thunder. Which was a lot of fun, like that ride. Then I went shopping on Main Street as my husband sat and played chess on his phone.

It was about 4:00-4:15 as we got on the monorail to Epcot. We had 5:30 reservations at Chef de France. We got there with pleanty of time. Even stopped by club cool to cool off a bit. It was hot that day. Once at Chef de France, we got seated right away. Not next to the window, but the next row over. We order some yummy food and enjoyed being back at Epcot. Its my fav park. Yes we saw Remy, he is so cute and it was nice to see him. After dinner we did a bit of shopping in Japan.

When leaving Epcot, we took the Friendship Boats by the Boardwalk to see where we spent our honeymoon. When we didn't plan on is Studios closing at 7:00 and it was now after 8:00, so no busses to Pop. We got off at the Swan, got a bus to MK, then a bus to Pop.

This is the night by back decided to flip out and give out on me. It made it hard to sleep that night. But I made it through the night.

May 2 Saturday

The day started off with my husband calling Walker Medical to get me an ECV, because there was no way I could walk very far with the way my back was. It was 9:30 am, Walker had the ECV at our hotel at 11:00 am. It was so nice they had it to us so quickly. Its what saved our day. We had reservations at Tucker House at AK at noon. We were about 15 min late, but they still sat us. We explained we had to wait for the scooter and they were very nice. We very much enjoyed our meal at Tucker. We had ate there last year and its turning into our lunch place while at AK.

I wasn't able to do do the rides, so we went over to Kali Rapids to get my husband a fast pass and they were out fo the day, so we went on the trail, before heading over to see the Lion King Show. We very much liked the Lion King Show, my husband was brough on stage, it was really cute. After the show, we split up so he could go to Kali Rapids and I could do some shopping the last hour the park was open. He was able to ride it three times and came off soaked. He loved it.

We had dinner at Pop, ordered a pizza. Pretty good deal for us, I think it was $13.00 we had dinner and my husband finished it off the next morning. (the food court has micro waves so you can heat things up, very nice). After dinner we went into the Dippy Pool. It is cute with the shooting water. It really helped my back. We didn't do much more then just stand in the deep area. But it was nice.

May 3 Sunday
We had planned to Typhoon Lagoon today, but with my back I couldn't do it. So we opted to go to Hollywood Studios. My husband wasn't a fan of going on rides with out me, even though i tried to get him to go on his fav. So we show the shows. We hadn't seen many of them, so it was nice to have time to do so. We were done with the shows about 3:00 and thought we take the boat to Epcot to do some shopping before heading over to Ohana's at 6:35.

I really like Ohanas last year, so much we went twice in one trip. This time it wasn't as good. We were sat at a great table, you could see the castle very well. Our waiter took our drink order and explained how things would go. Then his helper, practly through the salad on the table and walked off. That was the beginning of our weird service. When we were given the different dipping sause, it too was tossed on the table and as the wiaters helper walked away he said the three names of the dipping sauses and said the peanut one was his fav. I have no idea which one was the peanut one. The bufflo wings and the Im not sure what they are called, but they are good. Both came out cold.

The guy who enterains you as you eat, asked if anyone was celibrating an annivsary? We riased our hands and so did another couple. We were asked to come up. As we walked up our waiter said he just put some meat on our plates. Well thats great, that way its cold, like the rest of our food. So while we were up with the guy who entertains you while you eat, we were asked where we were from and how long we have been married. Then the guy played a song while we slow danced. It was nice.

Back at the table, yep the pork and turkery that the waiter left for us, ice cold. Very nice of him. Then the shrip came around, then the beef. We waited and waited for more meat to come around. We ended up asking for more. Which was weird since last year, they couldn't give us enough food and was always around with something. My husband was able to get a second bowl of the bufflo wings and they were a bit warmer the second time.

My husband doesn't eat the desert, so when I was done with the main meal. Knowing that we rarely saw our waiter, when I did see our waiter, I asked for the desert. When the desert was brought to the table. My husband was still enjoying his main meal. The waiter told him, your wife said to bring out the desert. I explained to the waiter that my husband wouldn't be eatting the desert and yes it is okay to bring the desert so I could eat it while my husband finishes his meal.

When I was done with the desert, my husband is a big eater and is enjoying his meal. The wiater brough over our bill. My huband put his card in. We thought nothing of it, we have paid many of times while we were still finshing up. When the waiter picked up the bill, he took a long look at it. Which we thought was odd, because we hadn't written anything down. We do the tip on the paper we sign.

When the bill was brough back, my husband took care of it and we were chatting as he enjoyed the last of the bufflow wings. The waiter came back for the bill and took my husband plate before my husband was done with it. I said we should let him know you weren't done. He said no, he was pissed at this point, it wasn't a good meal and we should just leave. So as we stood up, Im grabing my purse, camera bag and my husband grabed our shopping bags, the table was being cleared and we were getting bummed out of there. As if we had stayed to long.

I being an ex-CM from DL. couldn't let this go. So I asked for the magager at the podum. I really liked Ohanas last year and I hated the way the night went and how we were treated. I hate to see this happen to others and over time Ohanas loose its appeal.

The manager was great. We explained things. We were told that he would modify our bill. We told him it wasn't needed, its not what we were after. I said I hate for Ohana's to not be as good as it was. And if he could help these waiters be better, that is all I would ask for.

After leaving Ohana's, we headed to MK to get a bus back to Pop.

Tuesday May 5

Pop gave us till Noon to check out, which was very helpful. Since my husband had to do most of the packing due to it was still hard for me to walk. Once everything was packed up, we went to the food court, grabbed the 11:00 last waffle, enjoyed breakfast. On the way back to our room we stopped by baggage to get a cart to bring our bags up to be stored till we left on DME at 2:15.

Monday May 4th

Our last full day. It always makes me sad. But we had a full day ahead of us at Epcot. We did miss our reservations at Ohana's for breakfast. The reservation was to early for the busses and there was no taxi that could take my ECV. It bummed me out a bit, but what could we do. I couldn't walk that far and although we could have gotten a wheel chair at Poly, but I didn't want to ask my husband do push me and if we got there, they maybe out of wheel chairs. So we had breakfast at Pop. Love the waffles.

Epcots day started off with Spaceship Earth. I had been on it a long time ago, but my husband hadn't been on it before. Its pretty cool the changes they made. Then we went to see Ellen show. That is cutely done. After that we ate at Elcetric Umberalls. We went on another ride, and I can't remember the name at the moment. Then off to World Show Case. Starting in Mexico we went though the pavillions we missed last time or wanted to see again. We didn't know that Norway had a ride in it and we didn't know how much fun it was. We now know. We relaxed in Itaily, watching the proformers and I did a bit of shopping. At 5:00 we went for fish and chips in England. Then we did the Kim Possable thing. It was a ton of fun. I wont say much about it, so you all can do it and enjoy it. But do try it, its fun even if you don't have kids with you. It was getting close to park closing. We we headed for the busses, back to Pop we went. Relaxing outside the food court eatting some of our ann. cake. We took a walking around the resort taking photos and just enjoying what Pop has to offer.

Tuesday May 5th

Our last day. We had asked for a later check out and got a check out time of noon. The extra hour was nice. We packed up, grabbed breakfast and then went to get our bags. Pop will let you use one of their luggage carts, you just leave them your driver license and take the cart. So we did that, it was easy. My husband was on a business trip so we didn't check in for our flight at Pop. Due to he need some receipts they couldn't offer. No biggie. They stored our luggage for the few hours we had left before leaving. We used those hours to walk around the resort, take photos, read the signs, and see the hotel that never was. Its sad to see it just sitting there. We were all done with what we wanted to do, so we asked if we could board an DME earlier then our scheduled bus. With my back being bad, we thought the extra time at the airport would be nice. They had room for us, so bye to Pop. Which always makes me sad. Its so nice to get away and to spend time at Disney.
