First Year, First Trip With DSLR - More Added

I hate to put the pressure on, Linda, but I am bumping this thread back up because I am really looking forward to seeing the rest of your pics. :thumbsup2
Thanks for keeping me motivated, Ann.

My kids were off last week so that kept me busy, :yay: :yay: but I also had to just take a break from it for a while.

There weren't too many good ones from the last batch, but I'm going to try to get to them before I start my shifts this week.

No problemo---just wanted to make sure that you hadn't processed all of them and forgotten about those of us that are anxiously awaiting your post! ;)

popcorn::

Just wanted to let you know I'm still hanging out! ;) I'm sure I'm your worst nightmare...but if you can't count on us to force you into PPing the rest of your trip photos to share with all of us, who can you count on? :woohoo:

Hey, thanks for hanging in there. I've had two sick kids for the past two weeks and it's been rough. Hopefully I'll have time soon to finish these up.

No rush here! Just wanted to make sure I keep it within the first four threads so it doesn't slip beyond the point of no return---the point of needing to attempt the dreaded search function!!! :scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

I think the initial excitement of the PP wears off rather quickly. It's fun getting them loaded onto your computer and get the first few batches done..but as time goes on, I'm sure it's easy to just put it off and put it off until you are leaving for your next trip to WDW and realize you still have pics from the last trip that you aren't done with. :rotfl: :lmao:

Hope the kids feel better and I do really hope that sometime (whether it be this weekend or two months from now) you feel up to getting that last group posted---I've really enjoyed all of your shots this far. :thumbsup2

So Ann, I wanted to give you a preview and tell you that the rest of my shots are much like this one.

Still want to see them? :rotfl2:

Well considering this is one I took intentionally at the Philly Zoo last year, I'm gonna go with "YES!" on this one. :lmao::thumbsup2

Glad to see I'm not the only one getting these types of shots, Ann!

Ok, so thanks everyone for hanging in, and a special thanks to Ann (hereafter known lovingly as the pain in my butt :teeth: ) for keeping me motivated to get these finished.

I definitely got burnt out from the pp work and overwhelmed with all of it. It was good to take a break.

In the interest of getting these finished up, I kind of whipped through the last of them tonight. Good news is that I didn't completely forget how, and it seemed to go fairly smoothly now that I've got my system pretty much down pat. It's not the system I plan to use forever, but it works for now. (Think "Mickey Mouse" if you will, as that's what it feels like. ;) I'm sure there's an easier way.)

These last ones aren't my best photos. But I think seeing them helped me figure out what worked for me and what didn't. The safari was a bust. That helped me realize that at some point, I need a faster zoom (not only for that, but for sports - I'm planning to pick up a 50-200 f/2.8 and/or a 50mm f/1.8 when I can save enough) and I also realized (which before I went the dSLR route I knew would be an issue for me) that I do not enjoy changing lenses so I picked up an 18-180 f/3.5 last week which will eliminate the need to change most of the time. So learning is good. :thumbsup2

One of the goals for my next trip is to take better - and fewer - photos. (One thing I've got to figure out is why some of my pictures are coming out tilted - fixing them created a lot of extra work for me.)

Pop Century

We had the QSDP. Pop, IMO, has one of the best food courts on property. Love the parmesean chicken!

It's also a fun place to photograph! :hippie:

Linda - all your hard work has really paid off. Those photos are great! I especially loved your Epcot/Illuminations photos. :thumbsup2 Thank you for inspiring me to get out with my camera a lot more!!!
And to (perhaps - :scared1:) spend some money and upgrade - both my equipment and my knowledge (more of the latter, though, I think!!;))
Fabulous job, thanks so much for sharing, and I look forward to seeing more when you are ready. :surfweb:

Well it started out nicely in Orlando.

But we had a layover in Baltimore and, like I'd just read about with Groucho's flights the week before, to my horror, they had to de-ice the wings. :scared1: This did not make me happy.

The rest was a blur...

And my knuckles were too white to take any more pictures after that. :lmao:

Thanks everyone, and

Hey, someone's awake! :lmao: How are you, Heather?

Glad you enjoyed my report and thanks for the comments.

Scratches to Charlotte for me, will you?

Charlotte loves those scratches - thank you!!! :lmao:

I know, I know. ;) OT but are you anywhere near Perth? A friend of mine moved there last year.

I for one am glad Ms. Pain in Your Butt :lmao: got you going on the last of your pictures. Im not sure why you werent happy with them, I think you got some great shots there. I especially like the POP picture. Yellow is my favorite color and the picture just says "happy times at a fun place" to me.
