First week of Feb no longer lower crowd level?

This was Main Street Sunday at 7:30pm. It was from the moment we entered all the way to the castle. If my DS weren't so excited I would have turned around and left -

the electrical parade had just ended thats what main street always looks like at that time.. everyone is getting ready to leave or go somewhere else..

are you people going to a different disney world than i was today? because i went to all 4 parks today and a water park and i didnt wait in line for one thing.. the only busy park was MK and that was because its monday and the superbowl motorcade was today

You must have good timing because I hit crowds today at AK (expected due to EMH) and HS (not expected). I'm also at POP, same as the OP, and very glad to have a car and not deal with the very packed buses

That's not exactly true, it was exactly like that the entire day and it had absolutely nothing to do with the parade.. It has been abnormally crowded in all of the parks especially magic kingdom these last couple of days.

Unlike any other February day I've seen in the last 6 years, as a guest or a cast member.

Which resort are you at?

POP Century. Love the resort but 2nd year in a row of this, I won't stay here this time of year again.

I'm here quite regularly and I am well aware this was after the parade. About 15+ minutes after it was gone. By time I entered the square (I had business at Guest Relations outside then doing FP+ inside) the parade was no longer visible anywhere on Main. Usually after the parade people move, leave the park, relocate for Wishes or stay put. You are always able to negotiate to your destination. This was large groups of people clogging up the sidewalks and the street, chanting, yelling and not letting people through - making no attempt to go anywhere. There were no CMs that I saw directing movement. There were guests trying to get somewhere and getting frustrated.

If you read what I said, I said the lines for the rides were not bad and I had no issues with the rides, doing plenty. But when the walk areas are lots of people pushing and you find yourself having to constantly weave and stop, and the food lines are long - then it's no longer slow season. This is a totally different animal than I experienced this time last year (other than the negative hotel situation - that has been consistent). Compared to previous years at this time it is much more crowded than it used to be - I think that was the OP's original thought. "No longer lower crowd level."

There is a big cheer competition this weekend and many of the cheerleaders are staying at the All Star resorts this week ... This could account for the hotel crowds.

Those groups are there every year at this time ie wknd before pres wknd, which is a little early this year. We are there for a different competition the wknd after and we find the crowds are always worse when you throw free dining into the mix too.

Btw. They don't just stay at the all stars. Also POR, CBR, CSR and Pop.
