First visit to WLV

What are the best things about this resort? How are the restaurants? Kids club & activities? It's our first visit, I am sooo excited Thanks!

As you can see from me sig at the bottom, we rather like WL. The themeing is just awesome and we really love the place. As far as restaurants go, Artist's Point is one of favorite places to eat in all of WDW. The salomon there has spoiled my wife and all other salomon she eats is measured against the dish there. The pool and slide are great for the kids. If they're old enough, your kids will enjoy the Hidden Mickey hunt. Also, be sure to check out the MK fireworks from the WL marina beach.

The Villas share amenities with the Wilderness Lodge resort, including recreation, pools, transportation, restaurants, shopping, check in/out desk, and kids programs. You might want to look at the WL information as well as VWL info so you have the full picture. VWL is a great resort!

There is a whole WL Thread on the Dis... there are two modes of transporation to the parks...boat and bus. When you arrive at the Boat Dock, there will be two boats to pick you up. The one that comes to the right, will take you to Magic Kingdom, the one to the left will take you to the Comtemporary Resort. If you have a ADR at Chef Mickey's or want to ride the Monorail to park's this is the one to take. I went there for years, and did not know this.
There is a Beach, boat rentals, fishing, bike rentals, walking trails to Fort Wilderness, organized childrens activities. Some of these require reservations and payment.
The pool has just under went a face lift. There is the Geyser, every hour on the hour, streams inside the hotel to the pool.
It is a beautiful Lodge resort property.
Every night there is a floating light show on the water that comes by some of the hotels. I cannot think of what this is called, the desk can tell you what time it will come by. The boat traffic stops, when this is coming by. You can sit on the dock or beach and watch it.

The only thing located in the villas (VWL) is Sturdy Branches, the health club. All other activities/places are located over in the WL.

Thanks to all for the info. We are also planning our first trip and will probably stay at WLV.

Just came back and loved it. Only 1 issues. We were at the end of the hall form the elevator, which is a long way to cary a sleeping 3 year old

Next time I go I am asking to be put in the wing closer to the Lodge.
