Sorry it's taking me so long to get these posted. I am making time between catch up work here at home.

We awoke today with anticipation of our dinner at Tchoup Chop. I like to watch Emeril from time to time and DS likes to watch with me. We also saw the show that documented the building of the restaurant. We were excited that we were going to see it in person and it was a great bonus that we could just walk downstairs to do so!!

We started the day having breakfast in the lobby of the hotel. Continental breakfast. Bagels, pastries, etc. Costing about $26 for the three of us. Wouldn't recommend it.

Went to IOA. DH rode Hulk again and DS of course just couldn't bring himself to get on. Went on to Spiderman, loved it again. Made our way through the toon area (can't remember the exact name, sorry). Had our picture taken with Popeye and Bluto. Fun. Found Ripsaw Falls and I was the one here that sprouted feathers (cluck, cluck). That drop was too much for me. DH and DS got on line and I watched. They came off all smiles, and drenched! Both really liked the ride. We bought plenty of water throughout the park at $2.50 to $3.50 a bottle. Couldn't find those "free" places that I had read about on this board, but that was o.k.

Went on to Jurassic Park. Hoped to get on that flying ride (can't remember the name) but no express pass for this and the wait was 45 minutes. We chose the River Adventure ride instead. This was pretty good. DS was scared again by the dinosaur inside the building. FUNNY!! We laughed, and laughed. DH went on to ride the Dueling Dragons. I think for his first ride he rode "Ice". Of course, DS didn't go on and there was no question about my getting on. I like those rides that stay on the ground! We back tracked and found Popeye's Bilge (or whatever it is called). This was FUN, FUN, FUN. You will get drenched on this though. I wish we had worn our bathing suits! Since we were so went, we went back to the hotel to go to the pool.

We got to the room and the cleaning person was there. She was very nice to let us have a moment to change into our bathing suits. I will note that we had left tips on the pillow each day and it was taken each day. Went down to the pool to have lunch. Had another smoothy (yum, yum) and chicken quesadillas (sp?)

After lunch we positioned ourselves in great chairs only to see the life guards sprinting from one side of the pool to the other because of an approaching storm. After about 20 minutes, they made us all leave. DS had just gotten into the water, but better safe than sorry!

Went into the room and crashed until our big dinner.

Got dressed for dinner and my DS complained about having to wear a shirt with a collar. Tough, I say, if he wants to go, he wears it. :smooth: Make the walk downstairs and voila, they have our reservation (always a plus) The restaurant is beautiful. The most spectacular part, in my opinion, are the beautiful crystal chandeliers that are made out of crystal flowers. They are lovely. Three waiters were introduced to us as our servers. We began dinner with appetizers. DH ordered some sort of spring rolls, DS was adventurous and ordered braised ribs. I ordered the coconut shrimp. All were good. We shared each. DS (who is a picky eater) liked it all but said he wouldn't eat like this all the time (darn!). For entree, I ordered the duck, DH ordered filet mignon, and guess what DS ordered? Of course, the chicken! He said it was the best he has ever eaten, however. And let me tell you, he has eaten his share and more!!! We had dessert this time, thinking that of course, the welcome cookies wouldn't show up and of course, because we WERE at Tchoup Chop. DH ordered some sort of praline/icecream thing. DS had cookies and ice cream and I had the macadamia nut pie. All were delicious. The bill was about $160 for the three of us, but we really enjoyed it. DS brought home the Tchoup sticks as a souvenir and vowed to learn how to use them. A great time. :)

We shuffled our way back up stairs and stayed in for the evening. Oh, and guess what, the milk and cookies were in fact waiting for us. DS of course, tried them, but we all decided that they had certainly arrived on the wrong day as we were all too stuffed to enjoy!

I'll post more tomorrow. To come, day four (seaworld) and our last day. Thanks for reading.

Keep it coming! We didn't get to go to Tchoup Tchoup when we stayed at RPR, but plan on going next year hopefully!

Go figure your Cookies arrive on a night you are stuffed!

Great trip reports! I have a question for you. My DH and I have a ressie for Tchoup Chop on September 12th. What is the dress code? What did you wear? What were other diners wearing? Will nice, khaki shorts and a polo be ok for my husband. He's balking at wearing slacks. I thought I'd wear a simple flowered dress. We'll also be at WDW earlier that week and have a ps for California Grill on our wedding anniversary, 9/10. Same question... anyone??? Thanks....:D

I was at Tschoup, Chop two weeks ago. The dress code is quite casual - your plan is fine.

My son and I did not have a reservation the night we ate there. I walked in about 8:00 (we had come right from the parks) and asked if there was any chance for a reservation in about a half hour or so (I told the host we wanted to change our clothes). He said "Ma'am, you are fine - we can take you right now." I said "are you sure, I'd really like to change." He said "No really, you are fine." So, we did it. We were seated in the bar area (which was fine, because I really would have liked to change my clothes - LOL). Anyway, the restaurant is lovely and our dinner was delicious.

Next time, (when I go with my husband) I will make a reservation and be dressed a little better - maybe, then, I can sit on the other side of the bar :)

I wore a nice sun dress and sandals. My DH wore just what you are planning for your DH. My son also wore shorts and a collared/golf shirt.

Most of the other diners were dressed in the same manner. I did see some that were not. It's funny, my 10 year old noticed the difference and wanted to know why we had to dress up if others did. I felt better that we did. Hope that helps.

Thank you, Antmaril and Sherries, for your replies. My DH is "dancing in the streets!". He didn't like getting dressed up twice on formal nights on our cruise..."I'm on vacation for crying out loud!" so this is good news to him. Also by eliminating slacks, we can also leave the better shoes behind (heavy). Thanks again..

Thanx for sharing ~ Wonderful reports!!!!
