Hi,

We expect to arrive at the Poly at 2:30 or so on a Saturday afternoon and we will be FAMISHED! Where do you suggest we go for a quick, filling, late lunch? My first impulse is to go to Kona, but my kids aren't thrilled with that option (7&9 DDs). I want a little more variety and atmosphere than Captain Cooks.

It is our tradition to go to Epcot as our first park so that is where we will be headed after lunch. I am open to eating at Epcot, but it seems like all of the food options are a bit of a walk from the monorail stop and I'm just not sure we can wait that long to eat.

Thanks

My first thought given your DDs ages was the Whispering Canyon Cafe at the WL. It's just a boat ride away from the MK which you're close to anyway and serves large portions of food and fun for all ages- your kids especially would love the atmosphere. And given the time, you might have it mostly to yourself since you're in between meals (where the quick part might come in). Granted it's not in Epcot, but you could certainly head there after and you'd be full for hours...

Thank you for the idea. The menu sure looks interesting. How much time do you think it would take to get to WCC from Poly? I'd have to take the monorail then a boat from the TTC?

We've never been to WCC... so I don't have a comparison but my family loves the Garden Grill at "The Land"... it's a character meal -- the perfect welcome. The tables are booths, so it's a cozy environment, and you really feel you have the characters to yourself. And it's not too far in from the front entrance. The food is good and the restaurant in on a turn table so your view changes the whole time you're there.

If you're looking for quick and close to the front section of Epcot, we like the Electric Umbrella. It's just an average counter service, but they have some good sandwiches, great fries, and great cheesecake! Nothing fancy schmancy about it, but you can get in and out and on to the parks.

When we arrived at that time of day (famished) my kids (and us parents) really felt that our trip got off to a fun start at Beaches and Cream. Where better to say, "We're here and we're on vacation eating globby sundaes" than at B&C??

An additional thought: If you've checked into the Poly you could walk over to the TTC and catch a bus to the Yacht and Beach Club Resorts. You could eat at B&C and then walk into Epcot. Just an idea...

Oh! I change my answer. Do that!!! :Pinkbounc

Thank you very much for these ideas. Can I catch a bus at TTC to all of the resorts? I thought I had to actually take the monorail to MK to get to the resort busses. Where would I pick up the boat to WL?

Take the monorail from the Poly to the MK, and there is a boat dock at the MK entrance to get to the WL.

Any chance of having a light grab & go snack (fruit pretzels etc...) before Epcot, therefore no one will faint from hunger before you get the chance to sit down to a really terriffic meal in WS?
