First Universal Trip, Need Help for Best Options.

I've never been to Universal before so I desperately need some help. Here is what I know:

- Will be at Disney for 6 nights
- Will then transfer to Universal
- I want to stay at Hard Rock Hotel for 3 nights
- Need passes for Universal (after night 3 we are leaving in the morning so we don't need a pass for this day)

Can anyone help? I'm pretty good at finding the best deals with Disney but with Universal I'm totally lost. What are the best options?

You could call the HRH & find out what the annual passholder rate is (Preferred AP). Like Disney, you would only need 1 AP to get reduced room rate. There is a special going on through 5/31/04 that if you purchase a PAP for 1 yr (169.95 + tax), you get an extra year free (will automatically activate 6/30/04 if you haven't gone by that time & expire by 6/30/06 or 2 yrs from date of activation). You not only qualify for room discounts but free parking & some restaurant discounts also. It is a great value just to get the room discount. I booked our trip for the end of September w/ the AP rate & saved ~ 42% over the regular rates.

For the other passes, you can purchase the special tickets via the Universal website (get 5 days for the price of 2), or you could get Power Annual passes for the rest of the family which are only ~ $20 more & can get you admission into UO & IOA for a whole year! Check www.universalorlando.com for all of the offers.

The coupon code for the Premium Annual Pass is 6106111030025. If you call the annual pass # (listed on the website also) & order that way, they will ship it to you for no cost. The online ordering lists a $12 charge to ship it.

FYI, about this PAP mouseRD refers to you can also order it to pick it up at the Park at one of their kiosk, they only charge $2 for that, I bought it this way because I prefer that so I don't have to worry about losing it, they email you a confirmation no. Also, this PAP deal is good until 5/30/04. And in the past I have stayed at the HRH and found that the hotel sells tickets for great discounts, one Xmas I was able to get 2 park 2day passes for 2 aduts for $50, it was the week before Xmas, so I think that had something to do with it. So call the hotel before you get any tickets and see if they are offering any discount park tickets first. Good luck! Have a great trip.
