ok so we have been home since dec06 how do you stop the depression settling in????
all i want to do is go back!!!!
we went for our first trip in nov/dec 06 and for me it was the holiday of my dreams, i do hope so many of you know how it felt for me. i am mother of dd13.ds 12 .dd 11. and it was 2 weeks of amazing spectacular magical times. every day was superb and i am left feeling extremly low!!!
i visited these boards on a daily basis before we left and it absolutely thrilled me to read trip reports and hints and tips so much that i wrote my own diary to record how wonderfull it was , i can say this as i read it nearly every day and i recall how wonderfull it was, thanks for inspiring me to do this.
i am left waiting to go back.... how do you get through the wait?
i have taken up scrappbooking, this helps, but for me i need to know when i can return.... its a tricky one as the children are facing important years ahead of them in school.
what advice can you mouse lovers give me????

Hiya

Everyone gets this feeling, I even start feeling down about coming home before I go :rotfl2: !

The best way is to start planning, even if you dont have a holiday booked :goodvibes . I've been reading the un-official guide just to get my fix!

There is only one cure - book again ;) Seriously, the onyl time I don't get that awful post-Disney depression is when we already have our next trip planned (or better yet, booked).

I understand how hard it is though when real life gets in the way. You say you read others' trip reports and kept your own journal. Have you posted a trip report yourself? I can honestly say I find this helps as you can relive all your memories while writing your trippy :thumbsup2

I have to agree, the only way i get over my disney blues is by booking again. We got back last october after 3 fabs weeks and we didn't book again until March. I couldn't even come on the boards i was that sad we didn't have another trip booked.

Book again even if its for late next year, it will make you feel much better:cheer2:

I agree book again! Even if the trip is months and months away you will have something to look forward to. Every time I have been the depression sets in when I get home and I am itching to book again. It sounds like you had an amzing time so you should def go back. :goodvibes

thank you for all your comments! we had so much fun every day, as my son kept saying "just as you think you have found your favourite thing something better comes along"
we have talked about returning nov08 but that seems so long ago, i am the sort of person that needs to know dates and time and have it booked so i keep pushing to actually book.
i did write a journal so hopefully i will get time to put it on the boards, it is great to read through it and look at all the pics i took (about 2000) thank god for digital!!!!!!!

I agree with book again, definatley the only way to stop the post holiday blues, even if your trip is a year plus away it does make you feel better.

oh, and we all know EXACTLY how you felt, we've all felt it too, that's why we're here:hug:

Book again, read trip reports, plan where you're going to eat and keep visiting the Dis:thumbsup2

Welcome to the UK Community Board

Definately have a trip booked or planned :)

Nov08 is not that far away. You would probably able to book this soon.

It will fly by

 Our secret to beating those Disney blues is to encourage DH to make a DVD of all our holiday videos and photos. Select some favourite disney music to edit it all together, add titles etc and play it when ever we want a bit of a cure oh and of course plan our next trip once we've paid off the last one:thumbsup2 We also pick up bits and pieces in the parks and place them around the house like hats, throws, photo frames, they help keep our memories fresh:surfweb:

you need to book up - Nov 08 is not that far - especially once you get a ticker! I love scrapbooking too:thumbsup2 keeps my creativity in one place for which my DH is eternally thankful!

our first trip got me into scrapping and i am hooked!!!!!
what an amazing way to preserve all those fantastic memories, and i love the fact that you can creatively record the journaling to remember all the bits that the photos dont show!!!!
i did however take 2000 pics and the first day in mk has filled 2 albums, and i am very lucky that my dh loves what i am doin with the pics so supports me and doesnt moan about our trashed dining room!!!!

someone on here mentioned doing a dvd with photos and music, i would love to here more about it, we didnt video any of our trip so massive sulks from me as i would most definatly have videoed "wishes" "parades" " illuminations" "fantasmic" "festival of the lion king" and the music would be kept too, at present we look at home videos on google to get our fix but maybe i could try and make a dvd using my pics....

:sad1: Don't get depressed start planning the next trip.:sad1:
:dance3: Looks like another ones got bitten by the Disney bug:dance3:

:goofy: :goofy: :goofy: :goofy:

The only real remedy is to book another holiday, however, this is easier said than done sometimes. Remember the first time is the very, very best time of all because you don't know what to expect and it is truly magical.

If you can book up do so. November 08 is a while off but believe me, especially when you are living through school terms, it will fly by. My holiday this year was booked 17 months in advance and look it is almost here. It comes round before you know it. The other thing is the longer it is away the longer you can save up for it and the longer you have the excitement of knowing you are going back which is all part of it.

I would make a slideshow of your Florida photos up. In fact I have just done one the other week and I love it. You can usually put music to slideshows. I bought a Disney cd and an Islands of Adventure one so used music from these to add to the photos. Something quite strange listening to Twilight Zone music whilst viewing MGM photos. The music really can add a different dimension to the photos.:)

The other thing I would do is count my blessings that I have actually been there and been in the position to give your children the holiday that they would have dreamed about. I know I did when I was a kid. If you manage to get to go again that is a bonus but the main thing is you have been. A lot of people never manage to go and a lot are unenlightened so take pity on them. I know it is difficult when you want something now.

To pass the time I hang around here, picking up tips and hopefully offering some now and then. It is just something we all end up having to live with.:)
