First trip to WDW -- why no Mickey bands?

I have planned trips in the past but have had to cancel. Finally we are going! We are staying at AKL just before Labor Day. But why have I gotten cards for tickets instead of Mickey bands?

Did you book a package or room only reservation with tickets separate?

Reservation type is meaningless. You get magic bands for room only and package. Are you American? Because Disney doesn't send anything RFID outside of the USA.

Did you order your Magic Bands? If not, log into your MDE account and customize them now. After doing so, you should get them prior to your trip, but if not they'll be waiting for you when you check-in.

You should get magic bands from Disney for the room reservation. If you bought your tickets separate and have not linked them with your room reservation on MDE yet, then you would receive cards for the tickets but you can still link them onto your bands. What does it show on MDE when you click on "Magic Bands and Cards" on MDE?

Did you download the my Disney experience app and order them?? That's how you get them. You have to visit the site and order them one by one.

Did you book a package that included tickets or did you buy your tickets separately? Did you customize your magicbands on MyDisneyExperience?

Are you from outside the states? For my upcoming trip cause we are from Canada we got cards but once we check in at the desk at the resort we pick up our customized Magic bands.
