First trip to WDW and we leave on Friday!!

This will be our first trip ever! We don't have much money and my son won this trip so that makes it even more special. We would never be able to afford something like this. We are stay for 9 days and have reservations at the Animal Kingdom Lodge. We are sooo excited. I just started packing today (and am using alot of tips I have read on here) and I wanted to just say thanks for all the helpful information I have gotten here. My kids are 8 and 5 by the way!!

My kids are 12 and 15 though.
That's awesome that your son won the trip. Too cool. How did he win? I have a former coworker that has a son in some school fundraiser and he's been entered into a Disney vacation thing. I am hoping the lil guy wins as I know she just cant afford to take him otherwise.

Hope your trip is magical and maybe we will bump into each other by the pool or something.

Jodi- He entered a contest through the national christmas tree association. here is the link if you would like to read his story about our tree. His name is Brok, he won the 6-9 age group.
I can't post the url, but if you do a search for National Christmas Tree Association and then go to kids or contest, you should get there.


I just finished packing all the kids clothes and tonite went and bought the rest of the water and snacks. This is the longest vacation we have ever taken, so i am trying to be prepared.

One question I have, at the resort will we get something showing the different transportation options from park to park? I have read about some online, but I am worried we won't know how to get from place to place. TIA

WOW. I just read your sons essay. Sounds like a very appreciative boy. I'm sure you will all have a magical vacation!!

RE: transportation. I believe on one of the sheets the hotel gives you it has a list of transportation, but if it doesn't just ask. All of the cms have always been very helpful with our questions.
