First Trip to US/IoA, Looking for Tips

Hey everyone. My G/F and I are making the trip from Vancouver BC to Orlando for a week (May 3-10) with the primary destination being US/IoA. In doing a little research on the parks I stumbled upon this board so I thought I'd see if anyone has any tips for us. I'll continue to browse through the forums in the coming weeks but thought I'd start my own thread as well.

The first & last days of our trip are travel days so we're left with the 4th to 9th (Wed to Mon) to get in anywhere from 2-4 days at US/IoA (along with Wet n Wild). Out of that date range, what would be the best days to go so we avoid any huge crowds? Or is early May a quiet time in general? I was thinking that we go on Wed & Thur then possibly again on Mon if there's anything we missed or feel the need to see/do again.

Are there any suggested resources for the parks? Ride strategies to maximize the day type thing? Tips for the Harry Potter area?

And as an off US/IoA topic, can anyone recommend a nice (quiet if possible) beach community on either coast to go visit for a day? We've rented a car and I'm willing to drive an hour or two each way to spend a day relaxing on a nice beach.

My best tip is to read through the stickies at the top of the forums and keep reading threads. We've probably answered just about every question you may have.
