At Universal, you must do Jaws, Disaster, Men in Black, ET, Shrek & the Horror Makeup Show. If you're ok with motion simulators and roller coasters, than The Simpson, Return of the Mummy & Rip Ride Rocket can be added.

At IOA, most of the rides are thrill rides. Only do Bluto's Bilge Barges if you want to get wet because you will get wet. Spiderman is excellent. Obviously Harry Potter is #1. The rest of them are water drop rides and roller coasters. Seuss Landing has some kiddie rides that are actually quite good for adults too.

BobK/Orlando

There's also Jimmy Neutron at Universal Studios. This one makes me queasy but kids seem to like it. Twister has a nice queue and a bit of a flat "ride" itself.

You should see Poseidon's Fury in IOA. I wouldn't call it great but the waterwall is cool and again, kids seem to be impressed (and sometimes spooked) by it.

Definitely, go to Suess Landing! It's a delight for all ages. Ride the Cat in the Hat if nothing else.

ETA.. I know that you won't have kids with you but if you like things that kids do then these might work too! Personally I like most of the kids stuff. ;)

I'm looking for tips too...my first visit will be in January '11 and I too and spending two days to see it all. It appears that the parks are only open from 9-6 in Jan.

Any suggestions I can get will be great!

I will be making my first visit to Universal Orlando in Jan. '11. I am interested in any tips that can be offered.

(1) Mythos Restaurant - anyone eaten here? Thoughts?

(2) Lines at Universal - how bad in January? Are the parks really only open from 9-5 in Jan?

Any other tips?

1.) Mythos is fabulous and not to be missed! :thumbsup2

2.) Crowds in January aren't usually bad so you shouldn't have any issues. The parks are open from 9-6 in January...I don't remember them closing at 5pm except for HHN in October.

Great on both counts...I am really looking forward to Mythos and it is always good news to hear that lines should be fairly short. I am absolutely looking forward to my first visit to Universal! :yay:
