First trip to Universal - 2 Thumbs Up!

We just finished our first visit to Universal, June 22-24. What a great time we had!

We stayed at Portofino for Universal Express access and WOW, what a great perk! We are DVC members and love Disney, but we really wish Disney could offer a perk like this!

We went to US on Friday morning after checking into the hotel. We liked US, particularly, The Mummy and MIB. We also purchased the 1 park meal deal. Although we probably made out on the deal, I don't think we'll do it again because we felt too limited by the restaurant choices. It's also a bit of a hassle if you have a stroller. We ate lunch at Mel's and it was really crowded, so much so that we couldn't get the stroller through the line, meaning we had to take turns going through the line. I understand why it has to be that way, but it's not convenient if the lines are long.

On Saturday, we went to IOA, and this was our favorite of the 2 parks. The themeing is incredible, particularly Seuss Landing, and my DS, DD and I loved Hulk and Dueling Dragons.

We still love Disney, but we'll definitely be back to Universal, probably after the new HP land is opened.

I'm glad you had a great time! It's kinda funny...some Disney fanatics don't give Universal their due when it comes to themeing but I'm glad you saw what we love about IOA.
