We arrived yesterday after a long travel day (and we flew! ha). So, we decided to skip the plans we had to head to the MK for the evening and watch the electrical parade and just stayed at the fort.

This is our first time here, and loving it so far. we rented a camper from Greenberg and are in the 200 loop. We )me, DH, DS 4 and DD 2) are here with our extended family and have five sites. We do not have a golf cart. I too noticed lots of people, the bell hop could barely make it through the loop to drop us off at our site!! Everyone we have spoken to is very nice. we got the get up and go for dinner - yummy :) The kids played on the playground and then we just made it an early night so we would be energized for our first full day! I couldn't believe how loud the music was for the electrical water parade! it sounded so great. Can't wait to watch that and the fireworks from the beach one day this week.

Up early today with a little one who does not understand the meaning of "we get an extra hour of sleep today". so, figured i would quickly post. we are off to Hollywood studios today! starting with a breakfast at H&V with the disney junior characters. can't wait to see their little faces light up!!

Have a magical time. The weather looks to be good.:goodvibes

Happy to hear you made it to the Fort. :cool1: We are in the 2000 loop. We could hear the Electric parade from our site as well. Have a great time.

henny13,

wow it sounds like this was quite the planning exercise getting five sites and family all there at the same time. 200 is a nice loop - I camped in 100 trip before last.

It's funny your mentioning the EWP loud music. True story here from my very FIRST camping trip to the Fort with DW. We got in on a Friday night in the fall after both working a full day and got our little tent set up in loop 100. It was just a quick weekend trip. It was DW's first night camping EVER and I had all my Boy Scout camping gear for us (tent, pads, sleeping bags, stove). Got set up and turned in early to go hit MK early on Saturday morning......

Didn't know a thing about EWP. The music BLASTED us out of our new sleep and was quite a surprise. Even now when I had my popup and camped on that end of the Fort I always made sure EWP was over before I thought about turning in.

Hope your new camping experience in the rental trailer goes well. Have a great trip and leave some time to relax at the Fort.

This is really making me want to go back again. Loop 100, where we try to stay, is a 100 ft or so closer to the beach and I loved listening for the EWP.

Welcome to the DIS and the Fort! We are also here at the fort renting from Greenberg(First time renting from them). We are at site 1605 with the Sportsman 413 from their site. What one did you get? Let me know if you would like to meet anouther DISer and I could swing by sometime this week. We're here until Friday. This is also an offer to the other DISers here too that would like a visit. :goodvibes

We went to Hollywood Studios yesterday. Started our day with a late breakfast at Hollywood & Vine. we loved this! the kids had a blast, characters, extra entertainment (parade around the restaurant, little dance parties with the staff), service, and even the food was all great! Other highlights of the day: Frozen singalong - this was awesome, great for children and adults. Fantasmic - amazing. my kids were absolutely fixated on it. we didn't go in until 15 minutes to show time and still got seats. 5 minutes later is was standing room only. this really is a do not miss if you ask me. The only thing we missed that I wanted to do but knew going into the day we likely woulnd't have time for in our schedule was the Beauty and the Beast show. I hear this is amazing, so we will have to put it at the top of the list for next time! You can only do so much, right? we grabbed dinner at the ABC Commissary and since we were still pretty full from our late breakfast. Buses to and from were good and no trouble (Settlement to Outpost and then Outpost to DHS, and then vice versa) Today we are headed to Epcot after a lazy morning at the fort!

Bama Ed - that is too funny of a story! I can easily see how that could happen! I am sure it was quite a shocker. We got back to the fort late last night and turned into the 200 loop at 9:40. I told my husband, "hurry up, we have five minutes to get these sleeping children in the trailer before the music starts blasting" - haha!! You can definitely still hear it very clearly inside the trailer, but it would have surely startled them awake, as it did to you, without the buffer of the trailer itself :)

Sounds good ArielRae! I will let you know when we will be here so we can try and meet up! Have a wonderful time :)

We just left. We always called the water parade the electrical water parade too. Just found out it is called the water pageant parade. I never knew that. This trip we got to watch one night of it from the "grand one" yacht and the fireworks what an amazing time.
Have a magical trip

Ha! You learn something new every day - thanks!

wow - that must have been an amazing experience!

thank you! I hope you had a wonderful trip!

Day 2 took us to Epcot. We started with a lazy morning at the fort and didn't get out of here until just after noon. We decided to make the trip over a bit more "fun" and instead of the buses, we took the boat to MK and then hopped on the monorail to get us over to TTC and then Epcot. It was a lot of fun! Yes, it likely took longer that way, but we weren't in a rush and thought the kids would love it - which they did! the boat captain gave them little pirate bandanas and they thought the monorail was great. we returned from Epcot the same way. Even though it was again a longer route, we wanted to be able to keep the kids in their stroller the whole way back, since they were sure to fall asleep. so, that route worked for us both ways today! My husband (NOT the researcher in the family :)) just marvels at all of the different transportation options that are available.

Epcot was great! we enjoyed some of the delights of the Food & Wine Festival and took in some of the sights and rides. Epcot is my personal favorite, so I was thrilled we set aside time to go there. We had dinner with the characters at Garden Grill - YUM. The character interactions were great - we saw each of the characters twice during the time we were there and our server was great. The food was so good. I would definitely recommend and return. Illuminations was wonderful. The kids were about ready to nod off but perked right up for that one. They love fireworks!

Tomorrow is our first day at MK! Can't wait!

Henny13, glad you made it in safe and sound.

We too did that boat hop and monorail jump to get to EPCOT. Kids really enjoyed it. Sounds like you are settling in quite well, I'll keep up with you on the boards.

We too got a jump out of sleep on our first night, but it was the boom of the fireworks that got us sitting straight up.

Sounds like you are having a great time! 4 more days until we head there yay!!!

Hope you are enjoying your stay at the Fort. We have been in and out everyday since we got here. Have a great time. :thumbsup2

So, Day 3 is coming to a close....we took advantage of another lazy morning and hung out with our family members who were taking a "rest day" at the fort today. we hopped on the boat to MK around 11:30 or so. I do love the boat transportation. such a wonderful option. we stayed at MK for the afternoon and the kids had a great time, of course, lol :) The crowd levels were great and we hardly waited in line for anything. My son rode the Tomorrowland speedway FOUR times. He would have done it more if I had not convinced him we should move on to one of the other eight million things to do at MK! we came back to the fort around 6 and had a wonderful home cooked dinner with the family. we eventually made our way down to the docks to watch Wishes and the water pageant parade. Another great day!
