we are planning our 1st DVC trip to SSR 11/24-11/30. I've read several things online regarding the bus service (not that good). We are looking for some tips on which building to request, which bus stop to use, etc. any info we can get will be a big help-thanks!

We stayed in the Grandstand section in Sept in the building next to the pool. It was an easy walk to either the GS bus stop or over to the Spriings one if we noticed a bus had just left the GS area. Sept is a slower time than your trip and we had no bus issues at all. I would request GS over Springs since GS is the first stop and they are about equal in proximity to the main pool and Carriage house. We have also never had a problem when staying in the
CP area and enjoy the walk to DTD from there also. We never waited more than 15-20 minutes and that was when we just missed a bus that was pulling away. I have found SSR bus service to be one of the best and hope it has not really gotten as bad as some say.

We just got back from a week at Saratoga staying in the springs bldg, was very convenient to the themed pool and food court but it is also the last stop on the bus schedule unless you are returning from Downtown disney in which case you are the first stop. Saratoga has 4 stops, I would strongly consider the Grandstand, it is an easy walk to the themed pool, food court and Guest Services, and has a nice pool on site that you can enjoy if you do not wish to go to the main pool.

I hope you have luck getting Grandstand. We were in that section for 10 days in September and it was perfect in every way.
We never had one bus issue while we were there. The bus service was actually the best we have ever had at WDW in the past ten years. They came very quickly both to and from the parks. The longest wait we had was one night after MNSSHP and that was only twenty minutes.

Have a great trip. We love SSR!!

SSR actually has five bus stops and they are in this order: Grandstand, Carousel, Paddocks, Congress Park and Springs.

Grandstand would be my request as well and I hope you get in. If you do end up in the Springs and depending on which building you are in, you can take a short walk to one of the other bus stops if the resort is busy. It's not that far of a walk to the Carousel and the Paddocks stops and you can ensure getting a bus to the park. There were several times this summer when our bus never even stopped at the Springs because we were already full.

We've stayed in the Paddocks but actually used the bus stop at CP because it was closer to our building than the Paddocks one.

That's a good tip about walking from the Grandstand to the Springs should you miss the bus. We do that at OKW when we're staying near the first stop (starts with a P-road... shoot, my brain can't remember but it's by buildings 23 - 26) and if we miss the bus, we have time to walk up to Hospitality House to catch the bus there.

We just got bck from our first trip "home" we were there for 10 days we were in Congress Park and it was GREAT! Just a short walk to the bus, we took the bus to MK, EPCOT and MGM never really had to wait we highly recommend the bus at SSR!
