We leave Sat. for our first trip to Hilton Head. Is there a kids club there? Can anyone give us info. on things to do and where are some great places to eat. Beach items that would be good to bring chairs, umbrella, etc. Has anyone done the dolphin watch?

Thanks for the help.

There is not a kids club as in at WDW -- there are lots of kids activities and you will be given a listing of those when you check in. In the past, our children have participated in nature programs, kyaking, magic shows, campfires, painting projects (butterfly houses, bird houses, t-shirts) and many others which are escaping me at the moment. Our children's favorite activities are bike ride to and from the beach and crab fishing off the pier at the resort.

We have done the dolphin tour & beach combing tours every trip - sometimes both within the same week. Last I heard, Scott Henry was once again doing the tours for Disney. In the past, we've always had good experiences with lots of dolphins. Well worth the money spent.

We don't dine out a lot at HH, surprisingly we prefer to cook in our villa. We do enjoy the Salty Dog out on South Beach and the Old Oyster Factory.

Beach chair rental is available. We bring our own since it was a bit pricey to us to rent for a week $25/day??/$100/week?? I don't remember exactly what it was as it's been a couple of years since we rented them. There are a lot of stores to buy these things if you prefer (Wal-Mart, Target). We like the low beach chairs for sitting in the sand/surf. The kids like to bring some sand toys. Our older DS9 likes the wake board for playing the ocean.

Have a great trip. We'll be there in a couple of weeks. :teeth:

No Kids Club every night but there are supervised Kids Nights Out 2x per week. On Monday nights the activity is "Disney Detectives" for ages 5-12. $20 members/$25 non-members. My kids loved this one last year. It looked a bit hokey for my 9 yr old at 1st - they wore fake mustaches - but he had a great time. On Thursday nights - Kids Night Out is a movie outing - same costs. They don't really know what the movie will be until the last minute. I am guessing Around the World in 80 Days. If there is a suitable Disney Flick - that is where they are headed. My kids were fed pizza at each event.

We have done the dolphin watch 2x. It is great. You go out on a small boat from Shelter Cove Marina. It will just be your party & the captain. Both times the captain has given the kids an opportunity to "steer" the boat.

We're checking in Sunday with our 7 and 9 year old girls. Maybe we'll see you there.

Hey,

We leave tomorrow for HH. We are not staying DVC but we stay inside Palmetto Dunes. We go at least twice a year to HH so we love it down there. And by we I mean my parents, me and my husband, my sister and her husband and their two kids (DS 7 and DD 4).

We always love going to eat at Charlie Crab and Alexanders. Alexanders is right outside the security gates to Palmetto Dunes. It is really good seafood. Also we love to go bike riding through Palmetto Dunes. It is really pretty and alot of times you can see alligators and turtles in the canel areas. Also right off the island (you will pass them on the way into HH) is a ton of outlet stores. They are really nice especially HH Outlet Shops II. There is two different sections and they are right down the street from each other. They always have some great deals going on in the summer time.

I hope yall have fun. It's a great place to vacation.

Count us in as another family leaving tomorrow for HHI.

We're actually going to break the drive up into two days by staying a night in Asheville both to and from, but looking very forward to checking in on Fathers Day.

It's our first trip to a DVC resort since we joined last year and we can't wait. It's been too long since the kids have seen the ocean.

Love Wilderness and ramkam, maybe you'll see us, Me, DW, DD-16, and DS-9. To the other posters, thanks for the info and recommendations.

Peace
G4L
