First Trip to Fort Wilderness

We are taking our first trip to Fort Wilderness in October. Is there any tips that we need to know? We have made several trips to the world,but this will be our first with the dogs and campers.

Is there any pet policies? Can the go to the Sing Along or the beach? I would love to get a picture of them with some characters is this is possible.

I have seen pictures of decorated campsites. Is this popular?

Tons of people decorate.... It's amazing to see...
We've been the last two halloweens and love it.... Our site decor is mild compared to most....

Despite the restrictions noted, having a dog at the Fort is a lot of fun. The dog park is great! Not only did my fur boy love it, but I really enjoyed chatting with other dog parents while we were there. Having him with us also forced us to kick back and relax and not go too crazy with time at the parks. We utilized Best Friends for some daycare on a couple of days that we planned to be away for the majority of the day and evening - that worked well for us!

Thanks for all of the information. We have booked for the 2nd week in October. The girls are great little campers and love the dog park at home. We are so excited to be able to bring them with us. We had thought about a day trip to the ocean. Does anyone know of any pet friendly beaches?

I only know of one, as this is where my cousin would take her dogs when she lived in Tampa. It is the Fort DeSoto beach. I think it was near St. Petersburg. I am sure there are others that you might be able to find by doing web searches.

Oh, and I see from your siggy that you guys are runners - you'll love the Fort! Best resort on property for running IMHO. You can get in some semi-decent mileage by going over to the WL and back, and of course looping the loops at the Fort.
