First trip to DLP...First trip abroad!! Trip report now included with piccies!!

Day 5:

I woke up and found the pain had dulled to an acceptable level, so I could concentrate on packing and getting us home.

We spent the day packing, travelling and wishing we didn’t have to leave.

All in all the holiday was amazing, even though I ended up unwell. We can’t wait to go again!!

I want to thank everyone on this forum for their help and tips as they really did help. I think Jaime might have got fed up with me saying “well on the forum they suggest doing it this way” “on the forum they say you should sit here, or do this, or do that” lol But it was all helpful information and made our holiday go without a hitch and I feel we experienced the whole Disney experience and that probably wouldn’t have been possible if I hadn’t found out all the information on here before we went.

Top Tips:

Get to breakfast early as it does get really busy and can be a scrum and quite a stressful experience.

Stone benches by the castle for the parade….excellent view and great character interaction.

Café Mickey is a must!! Great food and the kids loved every minute of it.

Make the most of EMHs, as they really do help you get on the rides without having to put up with big queues.

Agrabah Café definitely a hidden gem! Amazing food!!

Meal vouchers don’t always need to be used on meals…..we used them on souvenir cups and lunchboxes. So if you have some to use up but don’t want to buy anymore food, you can use them on these instead.

Taking the indirect train to Disneyland…really easy to do and saves money as it is cheaper then the direct train.

When eating in Annettes tried to be seated downstairs as you don’t get to see much when sat upstairs as we found out. When the staff do the dance, you can’t see much from upstairs.

When in the Studios try to get on Crush as soon as the studios opens as that was the only time we found the queue acceptable. The rest of the day it was a 60 min queue.

Try to go when the fireworks are on, they were amazing!!

I am sure there is lots more I could report on, but I would be here for days rambling on!!

I hope you enjoy the report and photos! I will post some more food photos in the relevant restaurant reviews.

Roll on the next Disney trip! :)

it looks like you had a wonderful time, and I think I will take your advice about where to sit for the Parade. We normally stand opposite the bandstand, nearer to mainstreet station, but I would really like to find out exactly where the princess float stops, as my 2 would love that.princess:

Sorry to hear about your legs, and hope you recovered quickly.

Your photos are lovely, the kids' excitement just leaps out of the photos....bet they want to go back soon! :cheer2:

Day 4:

we were seated in Beaver Creek. The kids were again distracted by the kids corner, so they hardly ate anything, but then again they didn’t have much choice for their dinner, so it wasn’t very exciting for them.

It's a shame there wasn't much choice for the kids. I was hoping to eat at least one meal here when we go at halloween. How poor was the kids menu choice? I'm presuming there was no main meal buffet at this restaurant?

Thanks

What a fab trip report, it looks like you guys had a blast, sorry to hear about the sore feet! You've given me loads of good tips to add to the list, the food advice is especially valuable it all seems a bit of a lottery .... thanks for sharing it all :cutie:

Been to the doctors this morning about my legs as I still have pins and needles and cramping in them. He said it could be a number of things including MS or Diabetes :( So I have got to have some blood tests done to find out what the problem is. Fingers crossed it's nothing too serious, I am not unfit or unhealthy and still pretty young, so hopefully it's nothing. :confused3

At this restaurant they did a starter and dessert buffet for the adults, then you ordered your main meal from the menu. There was a pretty good selection of main meals to choose from, I had the steak which was lovely apart from the fact I was too ill to really enjoy it and my other half had the steak burger, which was massive and he couldn't eat it all.

The kids meal was a full buffet, so they could eat from the starter and dessert buffet, plus they had their own children's main meal food buffet, which consisted of:

Mash potato
Chips
Meatballs
Pasta
Chicken Nuggets
Mickey shaped chicken nuggets
Chicken drumsticks (which looked they had been sitting there for days under a heat lamp, dried out and totally unappealing!)
Green beans
and something called a Cordon Bleu, which was chicken, ham and cheese sauce wrapped in breadcrumbs. Both my children had these, took one bite and spat them out, because they were that bad! The cheese had an overpowering taste to it and children couldn't eat them.

So basically it was a choice of chicken, chicken, potatoes, or chicken pretty much lol

They could have stuff from the starter buffet but this was mostly salad or fish including full bodied prawns, which my kids thought were scary. There was also snails if I recall correctly, there was no way my kids would eat them!

The desserts were ok though, lots to choose from, plus also a freezer with ice lollies in which my children helped themselves to.

Great report, and your photos are fab:thumbsup2
Am getting very excited reading all these new trip reports:banana:

Loved reading that, and seeing all your pics . Your OH looks quite taken with Minnie at Cafe Mickey!
What a shame you weren't feeling well though on your last day.

Kids can always eat of an adult buffet in DLRP.

Agrabbah Cafe is my favourite restaurant too. I was thrilled when I found out that they finally opened it again last year. Because its been closed for a long long time.

Thank you for the pictures of my "home". I cant wait going back.
