Our first trip to DL is next April. I know it is early we are just getting some ideas. It will be me, DH, DS(7), DD(5). This trip is for DD birthday, we are staying for 3 or 4 nights. So the question is out of these choices what hotel do you think we should stay at.

Grand Cali
Grand Cali (concierge)
DLH
DLH (concierge)
Hojo kids suite.

Thanks,

An often asked question with a variety of responses! Here is a recent thread with similar choices:

As I said in my post#15 in that thread, for your first time and with your kids the ages that they are, I would go with DLH - and if you can swing concierge (they call it E-ticket lounge at DLH), that is an added bonus. I prefer concierge at the GCH but am anxiously awaiting the renovated lounge at the DLH that should be opened by this summer. The new rooms at the DLH are awesome and if you are paying a premium (for view and/or conciege), you have a better chance at getting them. There will be more new rooms in inventory when your trip is planned.

Hope that helps.

BTW, I notice you are DVC owners. Are you planning to use points at DLR? If so, the VGC are the best use and are gorgeous - no upgrading to concierge however.

yes we are DVC owners but we are letting family members use the points so they can come as well.

Got it. A little more complicated if you want to stay at the same hotel. It will be a few more points per night if you book at the DLH instead of the VGC and you will not be able to add concierge to their room at any resort.

I always stay onsite if I can afford it. With young kids, DLH is your best bet. Try for a renovated room and you will be enveloped in magic.
