My son is getting married the first week of March, 2010 in LA. We are from Maryland, so with the long trip, we thougt we would extend the stay and go to Disneyland. Would go probably Mon thru Wed, departing CA on a Thursday. Can anyone comment on the crowds this time of the year, weather, etc? Any info appreciated!! We'll probably use my points to stay at Disneyland Hotel.:goodvibes

Similar to WDW, Spring Break hits in March. Crowds will be significantly different in the first half of the month vs. the last half. When in March would you be going?

As far as weather, here is some historical data:

"Detailed Weather History for DLR" www.disboards.com/showthread.php?p=23004158

"Comparison of Weather For WDW and DLR" www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1711098

Since you asked for "any info" I will also add this link which gets lots of mileage around here:

Thanks Hydroguy. They want to get married during the first week(or weekend) in March. So hopefully no one will be taking spring break that early. Thanks for all the links!!:wizard:

Check a calender and see when Easter is, try to avoid that week but if that's when it is that you're visiting be prepared for crowds. You have a lot of time to read up here so you'll be able to have a great visit!

Thanks, Easter is in April that year. Its more spring break that I am concerned about. Although, my son tells me most don't come to LA for spring break, more like Mexico. He's not thinking Disney like I am!!:rotfl:

No Disney is really busy during Spring Break. Families don't go to Mexico, they go to Disney! LOL Seriously though, we went Spring Break in 06 and it was plenty busy, the weather was great though. :)

This thread is awesome!! I just hope I can see/do most things mentioned in the 3 days I'll be there! Is there a guide to doing DL and CA like there is for WDW? I know DL is smaller, but I really want to see ALL of the nostalgic things as well as the rides......yep, I'm a 70's child here!!:goodvibes

There probably is a guide but I've never used one, I just get all kinds of great info from all my great friends here at the DIS! :) I seriously love the Dis!!! :)

Make a list of everything you want to do/see, prioritize it and then ask for more help from there. Use FP's, those things are the BEST!!!!! And if you have any questions just ask, everyone here is amazingly helpful and friendly. :)

First week of March is a perfect time to visit DLR! It may be cool in the morning and evenings but will (or most likely will) be plenty warm enough in the day to go on the water rides and enjoy yourself.

Flying from Maryland I would recommend taking Jet Blue into Long Beach airport. We have done this from Dulles for our trips - you get a non-stop flight that both times for us was wonderful. Long Beach is a great little airport - in and out and very California. If you have time, you can cruise around Long Beach and check out the Pacific (with a rental car of course).

Monday will probably be busier in the parks than Tuesday and Wednesday. If you stay at the Disneyland Hotel, you will get Early Entry on Tuesday (unless they change it by then). You will definitely want to take advantage of this as park hours this time of year are short - park will probably close @ 8 pm those days.

Enjoy!!!!! You will love DLR!!

Thanks Caligirl!!! Well, we'll have to fly into LAX first for the wedding, then I guess go back over to LAX and catch a shuttle to the DLR. I was wondering if flying out of Long Beach or John Wayne? airport in Anaheim would be more convienent than shuttling all the way back over to LAX for the flight home. For us, we need to fly out of BWI.....the only non-stop discount airline that flys to LAX is Airtran (SW stopped all non-stop flights). Haven't checked out flying out of Long Beach though, or that other one in Anaheim. I am so glad that time of March is great weather.....here in MD, it is still winter! I am so psyched....(both for the wedding, maybe more for Disneyland!:rotfl: )
