Hello everyone! Me, My Dh, and 2 dd's (6 & 3) will be leaving for a disney VAY - Kay on 10/29. I planned to relax the first day, but as I got into planning out our days, I found out that the Spectromagic parade & Wishes FW would only go on the day we arrive during our stay. So, would we be crazy to go to MK upon arrival? We arrive at MCO at 9:30 am. If we went straight to MK, would we have to go to our hotel first? What would we do with the carryons? Any advice would be much appreciated

Tenative schedule
Sunday : MK ( Parade, Wishes FW, and any princess sightings out the musts for the day)
Monday: AK
Tuesday: Relax, Shop DD, Maybe BBB, Then MK for Halloween Night
Wednesday: Epcot: Want to do princess meal, but found out about the food and wine event.
Thursday: Home (Boo!!)

Do they measure with or without shoes for the 40 inch rides, my 3 YO is 39 1/2, but with high soled shoes can reach the 40 inch mark.

The MK closes at 9:00 on 10/29. Does this include the extra magic hour?

I am so glad I found this board, we are super excited to be leaving in 2 weeks. My DH & Girls will be their 1st time at the World! Thanks everyone!!

It sounds like you're going to have a good time! I'm a little sad that you're not going to MGM. It's my favorite theme park. However, most of the rides there are for older children, and might not suit your DD3.

As for the BBB, I would say definately do it. But, it is a little expensive. Both of your daughters would love it.

Edit : I just realized it's their first time going! I hope your trip is a magical one. :wizard:

I guess you have to go to your resort first to get your tickets. They give you those when you check in. You can leave your carryons there with baggage claim and get them later. I definitely recommend going to MK that day. I wouldn't hear of it any other way! :goodvibes

First questions first...unless you already have your tickets, you need to go to your hotel and check in and get your KTTW cards. If you already have your tickets that might not matter to you but, you never know, your room could be ready and in that case you can go and drop off your carry-ons and freshen up. If not, at least you will be checked in and can leave your carry on's with guest services.

As far as Spectromagic and Wishes, I would never, never, never, never, never miss it for ANYTHING!!!!!! Did I mention NEVER????!!!! It's seriously a must see in our families book. :thumbsup2

Next, they do not make kids take off their shoes. Whatever your child measures is what they measure. :)

Last Question: The posted closing times are for the general public and do not apply to Extra/Early Magic Hours.

Hope you have a great time! :goodvibes

We went to magic kingdom on our first day there, and we didn't get to MCO until noon. It was about 1:30, by the time we were at the bus stop heading to the Magic Kingdom.. we were up at 3am that day, catching planes.

I wouldnt' do it any differently. We were exhausted, but so thrilled to be there that it didn't matter.

Our room wasn't ready, but it was no problem to leave bags at the baggage claim area.

Have a wonderful trip!

1. From other posts on the board, I doubt you'll be able to get into BBB. Reports are that they are completely booked for MNSSHP nights and probably won't be accepting walk-ins at all.

2. Same thing with a princess character meal. It's highly unlikely you would be able to get advanced dining reservations at this point, and it's virtually impossible to get into Akershus without them, so I wouldn't plan on it unless you call now and get really lucky with a reservation. If you know you're going to be at Epcot that day, go ahead and make reservations now for one of the restaurants you're interested in.

3. Even though you're wanting to take it easy before the party, I would still try and get in an easy trip to MGM. With your daughters' ages, you likely won't need to spend a lot of time there on the thrill rides, but it they're princess fans they would love Voyage of the Little Mermaid and the Beauty and the Beast show; the Muppets 3-D is lots of fun; and Playhouse Disney would be especially enjoyable for your younger DD. You could go in the morning, and probably be done in time to grab lunch and still get a nap in before the party. I know you'd have to add on an extra day to your tickets, but I think it would be well worth the money IMHO.

4. For princess sightings, don't miss the Judges' Tent in Toontown -- you'll be able to get in several at a time. Try to get in the Ariel line close to its 10am opening if you don't want to wait (same goes for Toontown.) And, be sure to see Belle's Story Time -- Belle tells the story of Beauty and the Beast and picks children from the audience to help reenact it. Very cute!
At Epcot, many of the princesses can be found in their respective countries - Jasmine in Morocco, Alice and Mary Poppins in England, etc. -- if you don't find everyone you need at the Magic Kingdom.

Have a great time!!

Wondering why you are leaving MGM out?

I think you are really missing out by not going to MGM. Though your child might not be able to ride RNR or TOT there is soooo much more there. Beauty and the Beast show, Little Mermaid show, Muppets, Bear in the Big Blue House.

Do you have park hopper passes? (a must in my opinion) If so, try to go to AK in the morning and finish up at MGM. Fantasmic is a wonderful show at the end of the evening.

A big welcome to the DIS, and look forward to making some wonderful lifetime memories.
