First trip to disney as a dvc member and have some questions

You'll probably have to shop around. The new passes have only been around for 9 days, and I don't think there is any real concensus as to which outlet is the best. In fact, I don't think there was ever a concensus on the OLD passes. ;)

Try the official Disney site (www.disneyworld.com) and other vendors like Maple Leaf tickets or Ticketmania. See which has the best price on the ticket that works for you.

DVC members receive a discount of $100 off of an Annual Pass and $125 off of the Premium Annual Pass. If you'll be in the parks more than 7 or 8 days in the next year, that may be the way to go. Things are pretty confusing with all of the new options on the MYW passes (park hopping / no park hopping, expiration / no expiration, Plus features / no Plus features), so it is really had to do an apples-to-apples comparison anymore.

Best place to start your decision making process:
- If you'll be spending a lot of days in the parks over the next year, the AP is probably right for you.
- If the AP isn't worth it to you, consider the 10-day Magic Your Way pass with the No Expiration Date option. That is the most economical pass, and you can keep the unused days for a later trip.

Beyond that, you're on your own...

I know about ticketmania or Maple Leaf Tickets, but will they give me my DVC discount? Or to get that discount do I have to purchase from WDW directly? Anyone know?

The only DVC ticket discount is for Annual Passes. Discounted APs can be purchased either at WDW Guest Services windows at the theme parks or via mail order by visiting www.dvcmember.com.

The price will be the same regardless of which option you choose. If you buy from the web site, you will simply get a voucher that must be redeemed at Guest Services. IMO, it's probably better to just wait until you arrive at the park to spend your $300.

If you are a AAA member: I just checked the AAA website, and they are now offering discounted MYW tickets. We have always purchased our Park Hoppers through AAA in the past. Last week when I checked, there were no Disney tickets offered on the website at all. I was happy to see that the discounted tickets are back.

They are only discounted for the 5 day passes and greater. I was there today for the 4 day premiuim and it was a waste of a trip. The same price at the door. Is ticketmania the same, too?
