My family and I just returned from our first stay at the BCV and our first Disney cruise (4 day wonder). The BCV's are beautiful. We had a studio, 431, that looked into the woods. We had an extended balcony and you could see some of the World showcase as well as the Tower of Terror at MGM. The one night I watched Illuminations from there. The pools were great as well as the cm's and my fellow DVCers. I recommend staying there if you get the chance.

Prior to that we went on a 4 day cruise on the Wonder. Let me say that it is the greatest vacation from beginning to end I have ever had. I literally felt that the trip as a whole was excellent in almost every potential category. I highly recommend going on a Disney cruise. Whether you use cash or points it is up to you and your situation.

Oh I forgot, we went to the MNSHHP on Halloween. I went on Space Mountain, my son was asleep and my pregant wife waited with him. When I came off she said she saw the Wiggles. I didn't believe her but the next night in EPCOT we saw all of the Wiggles after the Tapestry parade. My son was all excited as he loves them.

Thanks for the report sgtpet. We are doing 6 days at BCV and then 3 day cruise in May. (My husband didn't want to do the 4 or 7 day because he had never been on a cruise and wasn't sure if he would like it.) Did you enjoy doing the resort stay after the cruise? I booked it the resort stay first and then the cruise because I thought it would be relaxing that way?

Good move on your part Terry. It was tough going to the parks after being on the cruise. I think I will be doing a 7 day cruise in the future and not do the combination. It is a lot to do for an t or 8 day period. You will have a blast.

In September we have a 3 day cruise booked and we are thinking of trying Vero Beach before the cruise. It is only about an hour away from the cruise.

I have been on the 3, 4 and 7 day and wish we were back on the 7 day. They are wonderful! But I will tell you that they highlights.....the best of the best stuff on the cruise is offered on all three cruises. So you will have a wonderful time!

Sgtpet,

So glad to hear you had a wonderful vacation. You are right that is a vacation of a lifetime. In 2000, we did the 7-day followed by a WDW stay, and it was the best vacation ever. The DCL is a wonderful way to relax. We look forward to our Nov. 2003 7-day cruise 366 days from now. Of course we rented our points and paid cash as the points through DVC are way out of line. We are a family of 5 so we need two rooms.

We will be going to HH for TG and then our first stay at BCV in January. Can't wait as it has been 6 months since our last vacation. You said you had a woods view BCV room, did it overlook the international gateway or the road? I thought those international gateway views would be pleasant.

Best wishes for the new baby.....Johnnie

Terry, when will you be going? My husband and I are going to be staying at BCV for 5 nights and then taking the 3 night cruise too. We are checking in to BCV on May 10th, then taking the cruise on May 15th. We are in the same boat, my husband sometimes gets motion sick so we opted for the 3 day just to test the waters. I'm so excited, this will be our first cruise and we will be celebrating our 20th anniversary.

Eva, we are right behind you. We arrive at BCV on May 16 for 6 nights and then go on the cruise on May 22nd. Thats a real bummer, it would have been nice to cruise with a fellow diser. I am sure we are both going to have a great time though.

Hey Johnnie,

Yes we could see some of the International Gateway area in EPCOT as well as the Tower of Terror over at MGM. I thought it was pretty quiet over there. Good move on trading the points and going on the cruise. When I do a 7 day in the future I will do the same. The wife is in the second trimester and is feeling quite well after our trip last week.

That's too bad Terry. I guess that we won't even see each other in passing since you are arriving the day after we leave for the cruise. What cabin do you have on the Wonder? We are in 6124. I hope that the veranda is well worth the extra points. Well, have a great trip!

sgtpet... Sorry for cutting in on your thread here!

eva... We were assigned 6058. Since I have never been, I don't know anything about his room except that I looked at the location on the disney site, it is right accross from an elevator and that does kind of scare me since there will be a lot of traffic.

Thanks for the GLOWING report. We are going in January and this is our first time at BCV (1bdrm and 5nts at BCV)and our first time for a cruise (4 night Wonder).

Do you have any tips for us?
