First Trip, Tickets question

A childrens AP, I never thought of that! :)

As far as I know, a childrens AP get's all the benefits of an adults so it should be OK (Could someone give a second oppinion though? I don't have kids so don't know for certain).

The passholder does have to be present to get the discounts, etc. but I don't imagine that's a problem and I've used my AP with someone elses CC so I don't think that'll cause problems either.

You know I think it might actually work! :)

EDIT: One thought is that as it's a childrens ticket, it may be restricted on what you can buy. E.G: A Kid can't buy tobacco so you can't use their AP to get a discount on it... Ok, I know that's a silly example but it's all I could come up with and I think it makes the point. Given that almost everything on WDW property is kid friendly though (I don't think they have an 18 rated DVDs in the World of Disney *grin* ) I doubt it's an issue.

I agree, don't see why not. Child AP should work for all benefits, just about $60 cheaper.

Edit, sorry nearer $80 for Premium AP.

We went to Discovery cove on my sons 10th birthday. He loved it. Make sure that you mention that it is a birthday as he got given an underwater camera to use that day. Can't remember if there was anything else but you should make sure that you tell them.
Have a great trip.
Ann

Thanks

I have been talked into doing the basic birthday surpries for DD so we will see what comes of it should be good.

And having finally waded through the 18 million ticket options, i have decided on an AP for 1 :cool1:

Right now onto,
what to do first?
what to do in each park?
what days to go?
when do we have rest days?
how much money should we take?

its meant to be a holiday not a military operation :confused3

I am sure i will be be back with more q's

Thanks.

just a thought- will disney still be doing the birthday free admission when you go? Also it is worth joining mousesavers we bought our tickets through them and they were the cheapest at that time.

Thanks

Though I won't make "blow by blow" suggestions, I will make a couple of comments.

Don't go commando (and no that's nothing to do with underwear! *grin*). What I mean is don't go into full on "go, go, go" mode. You'll burn out and feel miserable.

Leave the best till last. Try and save MK till later in your trip, especially if you have kids. Otherwise if they do it first they may find the rest of the parks a "let down". You may like me find another park to be your favourite (Epcot Rules!), but most go for MK.

Use a touring plan (This one may seem like an add for a certain company, but I'm not paid by them, honest!). I use the Unofficial Guide and Touringplans.com and it's great! You can do a lot more in the time available without going all guns blazing and burning out (See point 1).

Do take rests during the day, whether it's a long lunch in an air conditioned area or heading back to the room if it's close. (again see point 1).

Lastly, the one that overides all the rest, have fun! I know it sounds silly saying that but the amount of times I've seen people rushing from A to B because they'll miss this show, or that ride, or the other ADR... And they look miserable. The point is to have a good time, so if sticking to the schedule is stressing people out, then skip the schedule.

I admit I don't follow any of these rules any more (apart from the last one) as I go fairly often so don't feel the need to hit all of the "headliners". But they should be good rules to go by.

Oh, and do go visit The Wizarding World of Harry Potter for me (*drool*), I don't think it will be open by my next trip (I'm hoping to catch a "soft opening" but the chances of that are about the same as Voldermort taking up knitting! *grin*). :)

That's about all I can think of right now, if anything else comes to mind I'll let you know. :)

I know what you mean i will prob go mad first few days then calm down, ive got such flexability in my ticket options that i should be able to switch it all around as and when i see fit to do the "headliners" as you put it if i miss some of them!

Great tip about MK i was gonna do it first day? but i might leave it a bit now, and save the excitement. :)

The DS Loves Harry Potter so we will deffo check it out, got a dvd free in one of papers last week, it looks like its going to be big!
Not getting him too excited just yet though, until i see the official opening date.

Cheers
