First trip stroller questions

This is our first trip to WDW. It will be my 4yo son and 3yo nephew. My sister and I keep on discussing which would be better...rent a double there or bring our own lightweight umbrella double stroller.

We are going in August so sun/heat protection is important. Does anyone know if a stroller shade like this one would work on a disney double stroller?

I'd bring your own. The worst part is folding it up for the bus. The best part is they can sleep anytime and anywhere regardless. The park strollers you drop off, yours you take right up to the bus. Our son would fall asleep as we were leaving, I'd hate to have to carry him to the bus and then to the room. I'll miss our stroller and all the storage. Our next trip will be our first trip stroller-less - not looking forward to carrying a backpack all the time.

I agree! My 4 year olds favorite place to fall asleep is on the bus back to the resort. Even though folding and unfolding can be a pain, lugging 40lbs from the bus stop to your room will make a 5 minute walk seem like a mile.;)

Will the two families stay together 100% of the time? if not, you might want to have two singles. We have traveled with my sisters family to WDW and we do not stay together the entire time. Both families want and need time apart. I would take your own however whether it is a single or double.

We love Disney's Strollers. My son(DH4) can stretch out in them so good. My husband & I really like to make vacations as stress free as we can, and this is one that really helps. The kids are covered to by the awning that is over top. :wizard: hope this helps ya.

The WDW park strollers have a sunshade on them, so if you do decide to rent in the parks, you won't need to worry about bringing a sunshield.

Has anyone tried having two children in this single stroller? I know I'll need it for my 3 year old, but what if my 4 year gets tired? Could they both fit or should I rent a double stroller just incase?

We tried it, but it didn't go over well with my then 4 yr & 2 yr kids. This year we are bringing our double stroller & a single stroller for our 3 kids. They do get tuckered out! Our single will fold & store in our double when not in use.

I'd get the double- you'll have extra storage space then too!
