Hi there! I'm brand new to this so please be gentle!

My SO and myself are planning a trip next summer for 2 weeks, want it to coincide with SWW as he is a huge Star Wars fan! We're going to go for QSDP but were wondering how much realistically we should take for extra food. We aren't huge eaters but imagine we will maybe need a few extra snacks throughout the day to keep us going. We're thinking $20 a day for the 2 of us, is this realistic or should it be more?

Also we want to pick up a few souvenirs whilst we're there but don't plan on going too overboard. Is $200 enough for a few momentos - such as a scrapbook, photoframe and a couple pins each?

Thanks so much in advance!

That's a hard call.

Never done the dinning plans but i believe if you allow an extra $20 a day you should be fine.

Regarding spending, i personally try to take as much as i can reasonable afford, plus a credit card just in case. Souvenirs wise it depends on what your looking for, i will guarantee you see lots more than you budget for whatever you amount you take.

Have a great time, its an experience i assure you will want to repeat sooner rather than later.

It's all really down to personal preferences.Me and my DGF budget ourselves to $100 a day plus we take a credit card and a few more $$ as backup. We don't do the DDP and very rarely spend our budget, then what we dont spend of our budget goes aside for our shopping days.
Always make sure you got backup though as really you can't ever have too much money.

I think your estimates sound reasonable. When me an my fiend have been without the dining plan we budgeted on $100 a day for food and souvineers, never spent the whole budget though and ended up buying extras to use up the dollars.

We're pretty much the same as everyone else. We allow approx $100 a day for both of us for all meals, snacks etc (we dont do the dining plan) and we have never spent the lot in any single day.

As it's your first trip you'll see sooo much you want to bring back as souvenirs but we limit it to one special souvenir each trip....usually a new Christmas tree ornament. It means we really have to consider what we buy and will serve as a memory for each trip.

Welcome to the boards, have fun with your planning :thumbsup2

Thanks everyone for your replies! I think we're gonna stick to $20 a day for extra food but maybe increase the souvenir budget to as much as we can afford!
