First Trip! September 2013 PTR

Day 1- September 18th

We actually fly out of San Fransisco on the 17th, at 10:40 PM. We should arrive in Orlando the morning of the 18th around 11 AM. We will then take the Magical Express to...

Art-of-Animation-2.jpg

The Art of Animation! We will then check into our Little Mermaid room and eat lunch at the hotel. After lunch we take a bus to Downtown Disney, and then transfer to another bus so we can go play Mini-Golf at Fantasia Gardens!

Bus back to DTD where we will have dinner at Raglan Road @7PM and do some shopping. Back to the hotel for an early-ish night.

Monsieur Paul's! I'm really excited for this meal. It's also the day of our 6th anniversary together.

Sounds Yummy! Since it just me and my 6 year old no where near as nice, Chef de France! I want that mac and cheese! lol

Mini golf is a maybe for us, have you done it before? We have extra WPFM passes we could use here....

Great start - you'll love V&A! And looking forward to hearing about M.Paul - we have not been since they renovated!

I have never been at Disney, but I love mini golf! We have free vouchers from our booking, but even OOP it seems like a pretty great deal.

Thanks! I'm really hoping we can get the reservation at V&A. I will definitely change our days around for it if I have to!

Day 2- September 19th

1st MK Day!!

This is our most ambitious day. Luckily, we have another MK day. So if we
feel like we need a break or miss something, I'm not super concerned.

This is an AM EMH day, so we will be arriving for RD at 8 AM! Woohoo!!

Our first stop will be Fantasyland! We will ride Pooh and Peter and get
fastpasses for Little Mermaid (That is unless they switch to Fastpass+). Then
it's fillers until LM and lunch at Cosmic Ray's because Tomorrowland is next!

Our main focus here is Buzz and a couple fillers. We will not be doing Space
Mountain.

We'll then head to Adventureland for some classics and maybe a fastpass for
Splash Mountain since it's nearby. Then Liberty Square.

We'll spend the rest of the day eating dinner at Plaza and watching MSEP
and Wishes. After that it's home to pass out because we have another RD
tomorrow!

I'm so excited I found your PTR today! We will be going 9/20-9/29 and most likely staying at Art of Animation as well!

Day 3- September 20th

1st EPCOT Day

Today is going to be great! Erik loves science, technology, and food so I'm
thinking he's going to LOVE EPCOT!

I want to start today with a pre-park opening breakfast at Akershus. I recently
asked Erik about some of his dining preferences and he had said that breakfast
buffets are something that he is very interested in, so now I have to re-plan
around those! I had originally left them out because I didn't think he would
want many character meals.

Park opening will bring us back to Future World! Soarin' is our only real priority.
After that, we will work our way around the pavilions. I would like
to take advantage of the Visa meet and great since I have a Disney Visa.

After that, lunch at Beaches and Cream and then a break!

We will be back in the park around 7:30 and then have dinner at Monsieur
Paul's followed by Illuminations. This is also the night of our 6th anniversary
together.

We have a potential sleep in day tomorrow!

I just wanted to share that I got a pretty major promotion at work! I can't talk to anyone here because my boss wants to speak with the other candidate personally before it comes out. So I thought I'd share here instead!

I've been promoted from an hourly employee to a salaried assistant manager type position (a demi sous is the kitchen title). I'm very excited! I'll get some benefits and vacation time now as well! I was just so excited that I needed to tell someone, thanks for letting me share!:yay:

This is so exciting! Congratulations! Uh, when you can't tell anyone that is the WORST! When I found out I was getting to go to New York for work for six months, it took them almost 30 days to tell all the other candidates they weren't going. I was DYING! I actually un-friended all of my co-workers on Facebook and anyone that could have potentially been a mutual friend of a co-worker because I couldn't hold it in any longer!

Congratulations!!!! :cheer2:

Thank you!!

Thank you! 30 days is a long time not to tell anyone!!
The other candidate is one of my good friends which is what makes it so hard. I want to talk to her just to make sure there are no hard feelings and such but I have to wait because it is the professional thing to do. I'm pretty sure it's being announced tomorrow so we'll be able to talk after that.

ADR's are made! I got everything I wanted pretty close to the times I wanted. This is what we have:

Day 1 (9/18): Raglan Road, DTD @ 7PM
Day 2 (9/19): Plaza Restaurant, MK @5:35PM
Day 3 (9/20): Akershus, EP @8:15AM - Monsieur Paul's, EP @ 8:15PM
Day 5 (9/22): Sci-Fi Theater, HS @5:30PM
Day 6 (9/23): Victoria & Albert's Chef Table, GF @ 5PM
Day 7 (9/24): Tusker House, AK @8AM - Sanaa, AKV @7PM
Day 8 (9/25): Crystal Palace, MK @8:05AM

I can't believe I got the Chef's Table reservation! I'm so excited!!

Subscribing :)

We are there around the same time; I can't wait to hear about your V&A anniversary dinner!

The strangest thing happened to me the other day.

I had just posted on the September planning page on Facebook, and someone also following the page messaged me. They said that they would probably be joining me for my Chef's Table dinner. I tried to explain to this person that they only accept one reservation per night for the Chef's Table, but he did not seem to understand. He kept asking if all 10 seats were taken, which they are not. But, it doesn't matter if you have 2 people in your party or 10, they still only accept one reservation. I think I might have upset him by saying this. I wasn't trying to be rude, just inform him of how it works. I also thought it would be good to be clear so that he could try for a different night during his stay instead of waiting for a confirmation that will not happen. I'm not sure if he expected to be added to the reservation since the seats were not all full.

What would you have done?

I would have done the same - what else can you do, you were just trying to explain. :confused3 He will realize this when he hears it from the cruise folks and then (hopefully) better understand that you were just trying to share the same info.

Thanks for telling me about my link -- I think I've fixed it. :)

I'm sorry everyone! It's been so absolutely crazy around here. I work so much now! (around 14 hours a day is a good day for me). We went on an Alaskan cruise with Princess cruise lines. It was fun! Our trip is getting closer and I can't wait!! Only 71 days to go. We're also in the process of moving into a new apartment. Our current lease is up in a couple weeks and the place we're moving into is only temporary. The lease there is up in October so hopefully we can find something we really like by then (the October one is too small otherwise we would just stay there). My sister is also coming to visit me in Cali from NY the first weekend of August. So it's been hectic!! I'll try to get back on track. If not, I will definitely post after our trip...:confused3

20 days until we leave for WDW!! I'm so excited I can hardly contain it. I'm home sick from work right now with a nasty stomach bug. DBF had it a couple days ago. At least this means we won't have it on our trip!

I think we're pretty much ready to go...I've even started packing already. I have enough Disney shirts to wear one everyday we're in a park, which is super exciting to me! I think Erik is starting to get excited as well.

Since we're staying at AoA in September, we're able to participate in the MagicBand/FP+ test. We already received our customized bands (mine's PINK!!) and FP+ reservations are made.

I'm kind of thinking there will be no more PT "planning" posts, but I will probably post about how excited I am, at least once more. And tons of pictures to come after we return! :cool1:
