Hello Everyone,

We just got back from a trip to Beach Club Villas with my in-laws which was our first time using our DVC membership.

We checked in a day late due to Frances, and when I told the woman at the counter we were checking in she clapped her hands and shouted "Yeah!"

You could definitely tell the people who had been stuck there due to the hurricane. They were not happy people. I saw one boy snap at his parents, "There's nothing to do here!" I really felt bad for everyone who weathered the storm.

First off, Stormalong Bay is everything they say it is and more! I have 4 kids, ages 13 months to 9 years and there was something there for everyone. It has a little beach and a small slide and a huge slide and a whirlpool and tubes to make you think you're on a lazy river. It's really fantastic.

My tip for parents who use the portable crib: Set it up in the closet. We've done this at Beach Club Villas and also when we were guests at Wilderness Lodge Villas. The crib fits perfectly in the large closet and keeps things quiet and dark for the little one.

The Epcot Kidcot stations were a big hit with the middle two kids. We had never taken them to Epcot before and they really had a good time. They made cookies in the Land Pavillion with the Junior Chefs program and loved it.

I'll try and write more later. Time to make lunch!

Thanks so much for the great report. I am glad you enjoyed your first trip "Home".

I am always glad to hear that someone had a good time at my "home" BCV!!! How did you arrange the sleeping with you in-laws along? We have 4 kids also, though they are a little older than yours, 13 down to 6 years old. Thanks for the report...Lacee

laceemouse,

We gave my in-laws the master suite with the king size bed, and my husband and I had the bed in the second bedroom. The girls (7 and 4) took the fold-out couch in the room with us and my 9 year old son had the fold-out couch in the living room.

Here's another tip:

We also had a great experience with character breakfasts. We had a PS for the latest seating, which is 11:10 a.m. There were only 4 or 5 other tables in the restaurant, and the characters gave us LOTS of attention. Alice in Wonderland took my older three over to the ice cream station at 1900 Park Faire, and at Chef Mickey's, the characters all posed in the lobby together before leaving so we could get a picture with all of our kids with Mickey, Goofy, Chip, Dale, Pluto and Minnie. One of the waiters said that it was unusual to have that happen so it was really a Magical Moment. Pluto and my mother-in-law danced around the restaurant. It was fantastic. Since "breakfast" was over at noon, we didn't eat again until dinner so it saved us a little money, too!

P.S. My parents are in DW now and just bought a DVC membership in Saratoga Springs. That makes four memberships in my family. Soon we'll be living there!
