First trip "home" and to F&W.

DW and I went to FW and stayed at BCV. We stayed in a studio this time, for the first time. We went to OKW 1BR Labor Day and 2BR VWL July on cash and I think she's spoiled after that. At first she didn't like it but I think the theme grew on her and when she made that "long" walk to EPCOT, she liked BCV a bit more. Checked in 2:30-3:00ish and then went to find lunch. Every where we tried was closed, I think that added to her mood when we walked in the room plus she had to use the girls room since we were in Daytona !! After circling BC and YC for lunch, we jumped in the truck and went to Olivia's. Two Citrus Coolers and some shrimp fritters later it was all better. Every time we walked to the lobby though she just kept saying, "It just ain't OKW" or "It doesn't make me feel like I do at OKW."

FW was wonderful, better than I expected. We started off by the International Gateway, that "long" walk from BCV, and began circling. Met up with some friends near the terrace at a culinary demo and just worked our way around. I didn't try anything I wouldn't buy a whole bottle of. I think we'll definitely be back next year. I just got wrapped up in moving around and trying everything. I think next year I'd rather plan to spend more two days there and just do half the booths a day and catch more of the demos. We only got to see one. By the time we drank our way around to Mexico, sitting in a demo was the last thing we wanted to do .

We went to the Hard Rock that eve for supper and back to Jellyrolls til.... After all day of that, we didn't care if it was a studio or a lounge chair by the pool!

I guess the only "bad" thing, if you wanna call it that, is I NEVER heard "Welcome Home" except from the guard at OKW when we went to Olivias. Three trips into BCV, check in, etc....nothing. Is that normal? On the way out yesterday we stoped by the model room they have open at BCV because I wanted to remind DW what the 1BR/2BR looked like and they asked if we were members. When we said yes she offered us a members only BCV pin. I think she may have said "Welcome Home" too.

I had a wonderful time of it all and will probably book a studio again next year for FW. I think the proximity to EPCOT swayed DW's thinking and we really didn't spend much time in the room anyway. We're taking three very spoiled kids next June to BCV in a 1BR and I'll retest the waters then...

Thanks for the great report. The F&W festival is so much fun, I love it and I usually take at least 2.5 days exploring all the demos, wine tasting, food etc. I just missed it this year by 18 days, I was bummed.
Your 3 kids will love staying at BCV for use of SAB in June. If you are going to hang out and relax and enjoy your resort they don't come much better than that. Between the wonderful pool, snack bar, arcade, sand areas etc to keep everyone happy and then the convenience of just strolling over to Epcot for something to eat, Illuminiations, TOD, etc., it is heaven. I am sure your wife will appreciate the close location to Epcot and MGM even more this summer when you have 3 kids in tow. Enjoy!
