I am planning a long weekend without the kids Sept 4-8th. The two of us want to relax, enjoy the "grown-up" rides our young children don't like yet and generally want to have a great time. My home resort is SSR, however, I'm not sure how much we will venture into downtown disney, and think we would prefer to be within walking distance to Epcot where we will dine a few nites. With that being said, any suggestions? There are a few studios, preferred views available at BWV, but BCV looks very nice too! Or maybe you all will tell me we actually will spend a lot of time in Downtown disney and I should go to my home resort???!!!! We are not "nightclubbers" but enjoy having drinks at nite. SUGGESTIONS???????

thanks!

If BCV is available, I would definitely stay there. Second would be BWI. These resorts are smaller and are more difficult to get into. You can stay at SSR another time. Good luck. :goodvibes

Definitely BCV or BWV would be the best - but better call now as it is already in the 7 month window!

BWV BoardWalk view might have good availability, and it is really cool. We've done studios twice with that view. You can peer out over the BoardWalk, and probably will be able to see Spaceship Earth and the higher fireworks of Illuminations.

If those are booked, don't worry about wherever you go - all the DVC resorts are great!

I really think it's nice to let your first DVC trip be a trip to your home resort. :goodvibes JMHO.

i recommend BWV. lots of great dining and cocktail choices right outside your door. no need for DTD.

stayed once at BCV and we didn't like that your are stuck out back behind the main resort. i really don't feel like we even stayed at "the beach club".

i agree that SSR can wait for when you have no choice and you have the kiddos.

I think you mean BWV. You can't use points a BWI.

I would take BCV if it was available. We're just not a BWV-type family. Too noisy and busy for us. BCV is much quieter.
