First Trip, Any Advice

We are going to WDW for the first time. Our kids are 11 and 7, and we will be at WDW the 2nd of January thru the 7th..... I need suggestions for DO'S and DON'TS.....Thanks to all

Hi and welcome to the DIS!

You picked a good time to visit in that the parks will be relatively empty for your first trip.

If you look on this board and all around the DIS boards, you will find many threads that will help you navigate your way around WDW. I'm sure you will pick up many dos and dont's from these boards!

It would be easier to answer your questions if you could be more specific. Otherwise I suggest you take your time and look through these boards to pick up advice from all the DIS veterans!

Hi! These boards have a wealth of information. It will be easier to answer specific things if we have a little information about your trip, where are you staying, are you doing the dining plan, what types of tickets will you have, have you even made those desicions yet?

You are going at a great time of year and your kids are at a great age, my first trip as a kid I was 10 and my brother was almost 7. Your 7 year old will get tired (as well as they 10 year old and you!) so take make sure to plan time to rest.

Dont try to do everything! DO take time to enjoy all the little things. DO plan ALOT and research everything, it will make your trip more enjoyable. DO a character meal and make ressies ASAP. Are you staying onsite? My recommendation would be DO stay on site.
