We are looking into booking a 4 night on the Wish in October. We have never been on a cruise before so not sure about the pros and cons to room location. I do know we are for sure going with a verandah room. What deck is the best? Aft, midship, or forward? What side of the boat and how do I know which side it is when booking? I can't tell from the website. We both can get motion sick so take that into consideration. Any advice for a first timer is appreciated! Thanks!

I'd stay midships around deck 6 or 7 personally and when you go to book it will show you the cabin location on the graphic. 6000, 6100 being Port (left) 6500, 6600 being Starboard (right) 652310Which side of the ship really won't make any difference.

Carrying on from @happycamper47, a verandah is a great option to go outdoors and get some fresh air if it is within your budget. Looking at the horizon or scanning for other ships will get your mind off of the ship's movement. Oh, and the Wish is a ship, not a boat.

Midship is best both for convenience and for motion sickness. It can be a little more expensive but if you’re worried about motion sickness it’s worth it. You may actually not experience motion sickness because the ship is so large and has stabilizers but better safe than sorry.

I agree that side of the ship doesn’t matter. Some people seem to prefer port on some of the older ships (you probably know Wish hasn’t sailed yet) because usually the ship docks with that side overlooking Castaway Cay but it’s not guaranteed to dock that way and if you’re out on the island most of the day it doesn’t matter what the view is from your veranda that day.

Actually, since they usually back in the Port (left) side faces the Island and dock.
