We have never been to Universal and with some great advice from these forums we are now staying at Royal Pacific Hotel so we can be a little more relaxed for our two days at the parks (October 29/30). It is a mother and an adult son trip!!

Is there a sit down restaurant that is really cool that serves basic burgers, chicken, ribs or etc. we could eat on Sunday night when we get there at the City Walk area?

Then what are the best counter service restaurants for basic food in each of the two parks? Or are there great restaurants that would be worth the time away from the attractions in the two parks that have basic food (we are not adventurous eaters at all)?

I am worried with only having two days to see everything at Universal so I don't know if food is one of the big things like it is at Disney sometimes?? I know butterbeer is on our list but don't know anything else.

Thank you so much for any help - I am trying to make this a very special trip :)

If you check out the dining sticky, there are some polls that answer your questions.

I suggest Jakes (at RPR) or Bula Bar (at RPR) for great burgers your first night.

We really like the eateries at City Walk. Our favorites are Toothsome, Bubba Gump, Cowfish and NBA.

We like Thunder Falls at IOA, it's in between Jurassic Park and the Comic Strip area. They have a great rice bowl, ribs and rotisserie chicken.

At US we like to eat at the Fast Food Blvd in the Simpson's area. They have different sections for burgers, chicken and pizza.

Since your going to be staying at RPH, you will have the unlimited Express Pass. This will help to see and explore all the areas you want to in two days.

Sunday night- Cowfish or Jakes.

In the park, be bold and try one of the Harry Potter restaurants. The feast is probably too much food but all very simple (3 Broomsticks).
Thunderfall Terrace
Simpsons

Definitely read the sticky. :)

Burgers at NBC sports grill and brew in Citywalk are excellent, toothsome is also a can’t miss, at least for dessert.

In the parks, USF we like Finnegans for sit-down, they serve very good pub fare. For QS, we are big fans of the leaky cauldron, we find places like Springfield to have crappy food.

In IOA, thunder falls has one of the best values with a great ribs and chicken meal, enough for two people. Also, 3 broomsticks in HP is good as well.

We always have breakfast at the Leaky Cauldron in Diagon Alley. We've done lunch there and it's just fine, we just prefer the breakfast. The Fizzy Orange drink is delicious.
