First timer! Weather? :-s

Hi everyone!
Newbie here
My family I are going to DLP for the first time! We are so excited!
What I am 'concerned' about is the weather - rather - I want to be prepared!
We are going in the beginning of February, and I have heard that it is freezing!
Do you think we will manage to spend the whole day in the park if we are wearing thermal underwear and lots of layers, including hats, scarves, gloves etc?
Our son is 5 - I was thinking of packing a hot water bottle to put in his buggy :-D
Are hot drinks expensive in DLP? We are on a bit of a budget and hot drinks are must every hour or so! I have seen on the DLP site that there are microwaves available (for bottles actually ) - anyone used these to heat water and make their own hot drinks?
Are all the rides open?
If anyone has any tips for weather etc - would appreciate it - thanks!

chances are that yes it ill be freezing...we stay out in it all the time..BUT you do need proper thermals..have you watched the film..Day after tomorrow? .. dress like the dad in that film!lol...I think hot drinks are around the 3 euro mark..?? Can you take a travel kettle and flask..goodness knows where the microwaves are

seriously though, wrap up like you have never wrapped up in your life before!lol

there is plenty shops and rides undercover so don't stres too much...have a great time!!!!

Hi there, we went in Feb half term last year, snow over here but not much there, huge icicles everywhere and it was very very cold. That said, we had no thermals, no ski/snow wear, kids wore trainers, tracksuit bottoms, t-shirt, jumper and school coats, hats and gloves, we were all fine. Eldest ds and I got cold watching the stunt show (we took a fleece blanket and covered our knees like little old ladies!) but youngest ds who was 3 and dh werent bothered at all. We planned to go back to the hotel to warm up and to stop and buy hot drinks - we never did either and we are all southern softies!! I think we were just having such a good time that we didnt think about the cold at all. I've bought loads of extra stuff for our Christmas trip but think I'm being a bit paranoid as we were fine in February, but think we will be spending longer waiting for parades, castle lighting etc which we didnt really bother with in Feb. I guess if you have a little one in a buggy they might get colder as they arent moving about so much, we didnt bother taking a buggy for our 3 year old (threw it out on his second birthday and have made him walk everywhere since, bad mother!!), he ran on adrenaline all day!

When we go in February it is usually very cold, but bright. We wear jeans, walking boots, ski type coat and hat and gloves. We go in early for EMH and stay till 1ish, thn go back to hotel to warm up or have a swim; the spa pools are great for warming your toes! Then we go back out for the parade at 5. On our last day we book into a nice warm restaurant in the afternoon to keep us going.
Hot drinks are quite expensive, but you can get a hot drink with a Mickey brioche - deliscious! for 4 euros. You can also hire or borrow a kettle to have in the room in the afternoon.
This works for us!

we are also going early Feb, as we did last year, and yes it was ffrrrreeezing!! wrap up well, take a couple of flasks and you will be fine. the breakfast resturant in our hotel (santa fe) had microwaves and hot water for drinks, so we made up soups etc for the flasks. also took some of the bread from the buffet so we had a warm and basically free lunch there are lots of indoor attractions also, so that helps, Disney is definatly a "whatever the weather" place!

We have been to DLP a couple of years ago in March. Yes, it was cold and on top of that raining for almost the whole week. But we still had a great time. The park was less crowded as it normally is and we rarely had to wait. This meant we were able to enjoy more attractions in a shorter period of time. So we ended up not spending as much time in the park as planned but had more time to go swimming, ice-skating, shopping, eating etc.

I find the disposable hand and foot warmers invaluable when it's cold.
I buy the "Little Hotties" handwarmers on Ebay in bulk as my husband uses them when he's on his motorbike, they stay hot for around 8/9 hours more than long enough for a day in the park and if you pop them in your coat pockets they spread the warmth all the way up and around your torso.
Other than that we've worn thermals and our usual winter clothes. Of our Winter trips, November, January and several March ones, it was a March one and in fact our first one, that was the coldest, we were totally unprepared for the snow, but still had a great time.
