At the risk of being annoying to you lovely vets, I do have some questions as a first timer (Alaska Wonder July 3-10, 2017). Forgive me, I've spent hours pouring over posts.

1) photo package pricing and when do you order it?

2) are their drink packages? Pricing? When can you order?

3) what kinds of things (food?) cost extra?

Thanks!

1) Prices vary, depending on cruise length. You can look up your cruise here for specific prices:

As soon as your cruise is available, you may purchase it at any time.

2) No drink packages, per se. There are wine packages (3 day, 4, day, 5, day, 7 day) for wine with dinner. And there's a beer token (pay 16 oz price, get 20 oz).

3) Adult dining is extra. Snacks (candy, chips, etc) at the theaters and from room service cost extra.

That link is fantastic - hadn't seen that yet.

So "snacks" cost extra, but room service doesn't? Seems confusing. Hubby is freaking out about the cost already and I know getting nickled and dimed to death will annoy him. Just want to be prepared! Thanks!!

Generally, most actual "food" items don't cost extra on Room Service. But pre-packaged snack foods do cost extra (anything labeled "Please call In-Room Stateroom Dining for prices):

To clarify on the snacks...some snack locations do charge extra, but it's possible to avoid these: concession stands near the theaters, pub food menu in the bars, some pre-packaged items from Room Service, sodas from concession stands or bars or room service (free at the drink stations near the pool and in MDRs), specialty coffees or smoothies.

There are plenty of snack foods/munchies available for free from Cabanas (if you grab something to take with you for later) or from the quick-service locations near the pools. Your family won't go hungry, nor will you have to pay anything extra for food/drink unless you choose to do so.

Enjoy your cruise!

Sodas/tea/coffee/cocoa/milk/and juice (in some locations) are free in the main dining rooms, buffet areas, and deck 9 beverage station. If you want a soda at a bar, you'll be paying for it.

There are daily mixed drink specials that cost less on those days. It would be listed in the Personal navigator or navigator's app. There are also free drinks at things like the officers/captain's reception on formal night, and some of the Disney vacation club events (champagne and mimosas).

Yes, the only thing we paid extra for were alcoholic drinks and the 'specialty' non-alcoholic ones at dinner. (and tips to the Room Service person)

In addition to all the 'quick service' places on deck 9, you can get free snacks at Cove Café (the coffee costs extra there...but we just got the free coffee at the beverage station and then went to get the free snacks), free soft serve ice cream up on deck 9, and there are some free snacks in the evenings in the pub and promenade lounge--but they're out pretty late--say 10:30-11:30PM.

On a 7 nt cruise, you can sign up for the free character breakfast, it was held in Animator's Palate for us.

As far as photos--a Disney crew member can take pictures of you with your camera. (The Shutters people won't.) I just stayed FAR away from Shutters and never even looked at our pictures so I wouldn't be tempted. I knew we had enough of our own good pics and the package was just so pricy--much more than the packages at Disney World.

Enjoy your cruise! We loved the Alaskan cruise!
