First timer questions.....mostly BLT and WHW...

Hi Everyone,

Have tried to search for more info. about WHW, but have not found much.
Has anyone been there recently? Any and all info. about it would be appreciated!!

First trip to BLT (and as DVC member!!) coming up this month. So excited!!!!!
A few questions....we are staying in a Studio...
1. Is there a hair dryer?
2. Dishes and those things are provided? Toaster? Micro? Coffee?
3. Has anyone ordered from the grocery list provided on the DVC site?
4. Are things like napkins and paper towels provided? Dish soap?
5. With DVC, what is the housekeeping situation?
6. Laundry room? Can you buy detergent?

I thought of myself as a Disney pro, but now with the DVC, I feel like I am starting all over again!!!

Thank you so much in advance for all your help. I know the info. is out there but I am really looking for first hand experiences from people that have RECENTLY been there. Any other info. you want to provide is also MOST welcome!!!!!!! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!!

2. Dishes and those things are provided? Toaster? Micro? Coffee? Paper plates and bowels as well as plastic utensiles. there is a Toaster, micro, small fridge and you will have one or two packs of coffee. If you want any more you will need to buy it or bring it. The coffee maker is a larger 12 cup size and takes flat bottom basket filters
3. Has anyone ordered from the grocery list provided on the DVC site? Not I. If there is something I want I go down to the store myself.
4. Are things like napkins and paper towels provided? Dish soap?there will be paper towls and dish soap.
5. With DVC, what is the housekeeping situation?I'm not great at quoting this. It depends on length of stay. If you stay longer than 4 days you will receive Trash and towel service on day 4. For stays longer than 8 days you will receive a full cleaning on day 4 and T&T service on day 8 I believe
6. Laundry room? Can you buy detergent? There is a laundry room on the first floor near the north bank of elevators. If there isn't laundry detergent sold there you can buy it at the store in the CR.

So the list of groceries is all available at the store in the Contemporary? That's great to know. We can just go there and choose a few things we might need.

One more question.....
Will we check in at the Contemporary? But is there a desk with someone in the lobby of the BLT as well???

Ohhhhh - WHW! I've never been. In Feb if I had arrived a little bit earlier I could have gone. I was staying at BWV for the night and didn't have any particular plans but I didn't get settled in my room until it was almost over so I skipped it.

If you order groceries from the DVC website then they are they same as found at the stores. It's limited shopping but covers most of the basics. Anything more and you need to shop off site or use one of the off site grocery delivery services.

And yes, you check in at the Contemporary. There are a couple of desks at BLT but they are not manned all day long. One is used to check in for TOTWL (starting at 5pm I think), and the other may be occupied by a DVC sales person to do tours later in the afternoon. With the new tour reception they are doing in the morning they may have someone there early now too.

Yes, there are both coffee mugs and glasses.

Welcome Home Wednesdays is a DVC member reception. There are snacks (popcorn, lemonade), drawings for prizes (nice prizes!) and a game show of DVC trivia based on the Jeopardy format. Often there are also DVC gifts for all attendees like a calendar or logo hat.

I wouldn't necessarily give up dining reservations or park time ... but if you are in the area and need an entertaining break -- stop by and enjoy a laugh or two.

FWIW, I've never seen them referred to as WHW. This is one time the community skipped on using the shorthand. ;-)
