First timer question

I understand we are permitted to goto our cabin as soon as we board. Is this correct? I hate the idea of lugging around our carryone including 12 pack water/beer.

Also, we have early dining. Should we pack 1st night dining clothes in our carryon bags? If dining is at 6:00 and our luggage is not delivered 5:30 I think we'll be late.

when you board the ship, they will steer (herd) you towards either parrot cay or topsiders for lunch. technically, the cabins are not supposed to be ready for access until sometime after 1:00. however, if you know where you are going, there are a couple different staircases/elevators you can use to go straight to your cabin. we've done this on each of our four previous cruises. the last time (over thanksgiving), the fire doors between the main elevator bank and the stateroom corridors were closed. boy, are they heavy to push open...but we did and went to our cabin to drop off our carry-ons, get our navigator and meal/show tickets.

if you do this, though, as a courtesy to your cabin steward, just drop your stuff off as they are probably rushing to finish before 1:00 and you don't want to be in their way.

as for your case of water...put one of your stateroom luggage tags on it and have them deliver it to your cabin. we did this with a case and a half of sodas. lots of people do it.

so, you can carry bottled water and soda on the ship? Just trying to learn the ropes before we leave on the 7th lol
