We will be going to IOA for the first time after coming in from a DCL cruise in a few weeks. As we have a late flight that day, we figured it would be fun to check out HP. We are renting a minivan one way (Port Canaveral to MCO) and I had planned to just leave the luggage in the car, but after reading the thread about stolen luggage I'm kind of panicking now.

I've done some research and I have come up with two options that I wanted to get the experts' opinions on. I noticed that there were lockers outside the gates, and the larger ones look like they would fit some of our bags. We could put the things that matter in a couple bags to go in the (expensive) lockers and leave the rest to fate. Alternatively, I thought about the red carpet valet parking, thinking that might be a "safer" option for leaving the luggage in the car (and we would have to lug the luggage to the lockers). Any luggage storage experts out there?

The valet section of the garage has more activity since the valets are running cars in and out all day. Is that safer? I don't know but I would certainly think so. I don't think you would want to lug your bags to the park itself but if you have stuff that you absolutely cannot be w/o, that's an option for you. The bags would be subject to inspection before entering CityWalk though...keep that in mind.

i've never had any issues with my luggage locked in a car in the lot or garage.

but, if you are concerned about this, use the family lockers up front in the park or ask that guest services hold your luggage for you.

I hadn't really thought about it either until I saw the thread on break-ins! I never thought of asking Guest Services, that's definitely a thought! Thanks.

I hadn't thought of this--thanks. That would definitely be a consideration.
