Hi there!!

First timer posting and first time attending the Food and Wine this year.

Is there a specific time the booths open?? or is it when Epcot is open, the booths open up and food and drinks a flow?!

Any help would be great thanks!!!

The Booths open and close with the World Showcase hours.

WS opens at 11:00 AM and closes at 9:00 PM,but for F&W WS closes at 10:00 PM on Fridays and Saturdays.

The Booths do not stay open for PM EMH.

WELCOME!!!!:)

The OP didn't ask but I'll offer some advice of a general nature. Disney offers a small gift card on a wrist band. You pre-load it with $$ either by cash or your credit card. These are very handy because you just swipe them at the food kiosks, you get a receipt giving you your remaining balance and there's no accumulating loose change from your purchases.

Sat in WS is crazy busy, we avoid it, perhaps just popping in from our Board Walk resort just to see the insanity.

There are free concerts nightly at the American Pavilion, here's the line-up: http://www.disneyfoodblog.com/eat-to-the-beat-concerts/ - 3 shows nightly, the first is the most crowded the last the least. We often do no TS meals preferring to 'Graze Around the World'.

:welcome:to the disboards!

There's a dedicated F&W thread at the top of the restaurants board that has a lot of general information on the first page. After that you can skip to the last page for the most recent discussions/questions/answers and work backwards. It's the best place to get information and ask any questions that you might have. The thread is already at 60+ pages and F&W hasn't even started yet! It looks daunting, but don't be intimidated. :) Here's the link:

Another excellent source of info is the Disney Food blog:

We've used both extensively when planning our F&W trips.

Beware the barfing drunks after 6:00 PM. They ruin the whole experience.

Of course I have gone a week a year every year and go every evening but Sat and never saw the barfing drunks. I've seen a lot of people playing temperance police. (Yes we heard you, yes we acted drunk just to watch the adult 2 year old fit, no we weren't drunk some of us don't even drink. That was especially true of the 16 year old you complained about LOL)

Sat night is just too crowded to get drunk. The lines are so long you would sober up between drinks

I'm going for the first time this year, and I can't wait to see how legit the reports of F&W being a drunken bacchanalia are. Of course, I'll likely be a trifle pixillated myself...

Never say never. Up until last year, the only visibly intoxicated guests I had ever seen at WDW were at my resort. Never noticed anybody bombed at Epcot. But while waiting for the Illuminations barge drawbridge to come down during evening EMH, I witnessed my first group of rowdy young drunks. One young man upchucked, spraying my sister's leg. Good thing she was wearing shorts and able to clean up easily.

Anyway, I had my doubts that such things happen in WDW, but they do. It is a vacation spot after all, and folks do sometimes over imbibe.

I too am going for the first time...and intimidated by 60 page long threads prior to the event. If the lines are tooo looooong to get a drink, how long are they to get food? I want to graze around the world....but I am now thinking of our local rib burn off. Our plan was to sample each of the ~12 vendors. No Way! Each line took about 20 minutes to get a sampler.

Do I stand a real chance of grazing at a few booths on a Weds evening?

Wednesday will not be busy. When people say 20+ minute waits, they're talking about Friday & Saturday evenings. Those are wall-to-wall because of locals.

Ditto on the gift card wristlet. It's awesome...and so is the festival.

Regardless of barfing I recommend avoiding Saturdays. F & W is extremely popular with the locals and draws huge crowds on the weekends.

We really enjoy the Food & Wine. We've been multiple times and haven't had any problems with people being too drunk.

Food and wine is great. We've been a few times and haven't seen any crazy drunkards.

The booths aren't open during evening EMH though :(

Oh and lines were circa 5 mins mid week for food and drink. Except France - we queued 20 minutes for the escargot!

I would avoid Friday and Saturdays after 2pm.
I went last year in September on a Saturday at 6:30pm. I was just going to grab some nibbles at a couple of booths and then walk up front to go to another park. It was insane. I managed to wait 30 minutes for one booth and shared a table with a nice couple.

Then I tried to walk to another booth and couldn't even get through the crowds - it was worse than I-285 in Atlanta during rush hour. I just left at that point and went to MK which was also busy but at least I could get some food!

This would be one expensive hangover.

LOL! You're the first one to say that since DH. He always says, considering the size of the drinks and what they charge, you gotta be really rich to get drunk at the F&W.
