Taking my 6 yr old on our first trip! It's going to be a short trip and we are trying to desperately get reservations to Chef Mickeys - what are the chances of getting a last minute reservation and does it take awhile to get to and from the Magic Kingdom to these restaurants at the resorts? Just wondering how much of our day will it take? Are they worth it?
Thanks!

Have you called or gone online to check availability for your dates? I would do that first. IMO, Chef Mickeys is worth it. :thumbsup2 It's located at the Contemporary Resort and you can either walk or ride the Monorail to it. It does not take more than 15 minutes either way unless the monorail is really busy. As far as how long it will take I would plan for two hours for everything, but I am sure it will be a little less.

Is it just the two of you??? If it is, it shouldnt be a huge problem to be seated even if you walk up. But keep trying to get ressies online AND by calling (i would check online daily). you would be amazed how many ressies pop up at the last minute. Dont give up. And when you get there, if you still dont have a ressie, ask concierge at your resort (or at MK) to check daily for you too. And call! Lol! I know it sounds crazy, but by doing this im pretty sure you'll get a ressie.

Have you tried Ohana for breakfast? in my opinion, its much better than chef mickeys. There's Mickey, stitch, and pluto. The food is all you can eat family style (brought to the table). Very yummy food, pineapple bread and iliko juice is to die for! Atmosphere is much better than at chef mickeys too! Plus its also on the monorail. I'd give this a try if you can. :thumbsup2

I just got a ressie for May 10th!!! Just started checking online daily and pronto. Good luck!!!!:thumbsup2

Yes, keep trying. My sister booked CRT the day of, and you know how hard it can be. I always keep the Disney Dining number in my cell phone just in case, and it came in handy last time. We made a change last minute and they were very helpful.:thumbsup2

Yes, as others have said, keep trying. Last time we were down, I would use my cell phone to hit the mobile WDW site to check for open tables. If people cancel, slots suddenly open. I was able to book Coral Reef at Epcot 1 day in advance, which is often next to impossible.

another tip--if you are willing to eat at less popular times, you may get lucky. We walked up to San Angel Inn for a late lunch and were seated immediately!
