I have an upcoming trip to Aulani staying in a one bedroom ocean view.

I have the following request already in: Ewa Tower. Lobby wing. 50 series (high floor). I made this request awhile ago and I wanted to see if anyone can help verify if this is a good request to see the sunrise/sunset from the balcony.

In addition, can you request a room with the long balcony rather than the short balcony? Suggestions on how to request it?

Your best bet for the sunset it to be out as far away from the lobby in the EWA tower. It kind of goes down over the ocean just left of the Four Seasons and depending on the time of year, the resort doesn't really get the best view of it IMO. The sunrise will be over on the Island side. With your request, if you are facing the Island, you could possibly see the sunrise.

I believe that the 50s rooms have the long balcony. The 70s and 80s (interior view) rooms in Ewa tower have a better view of the sunset, but they have smaller balconies.

Yes, you can request a room with a long balcony.

Hello and Happy Belated 50th!

I was fortunate enough to also celebrate my 50th Birthday at Aulani last July! And it was incredible!

Like you i really wanted our one-bedroom to have a view of the sunset. And that meant closer to ocean than rooms in 50s. My request was similar to yours but here it is:
  • Ewa Tower (Long Wing Facing Pool and Ocean)
  • 12th floor or above
  • Choice 1 ending in '82
  • Choice 2 ending in '76
  • Choice 3 ending in ’70

We got two out of three requests met - room 876 which worked out beautifully. Sixth floor and lower are not Oceanview so we just made it with a floor to spare! I didn’t want a long balcony because it would obscure the whole sunset at my time of year. And we actually didn’t watch one whole sunset from our room! Here is a pic after we returned from the north shore.

Hopefully this helps others with requests since you’re there or back!

We watched them from the lagoon area or were simply busy during many. Here is my birthday dinner at Longhis and this was the most perfect setting and meal I could have ever asked for on my birthday! After an amazing day at Laniwei! Followed by the balcony view before sunrise which I loved each morning!

I am sure that you had an incredible birthday staying at Aulani - it was an absolutely beautiful way to celebrate my son’s graduation and my birthday! I miss it and daydream about it at least once a week!

Thanks for the birthday wishes! We had an amazing time. Looks like you did too! Can't wait to return.

We were in Room 1568 (one bedroom) just recently, and it was excellent for the ocean view. As I recall, we could see the sunset from the balcony (though the sun was well off to the right, as one looked out toward the water), but not the sunrise. The balcony seemed long to me. I believe it ran along both the living room and the bedroom. There is one higher floor, but we did not need the extra elevation. Other rooms in the 156x category should be good. I am not sure about the view from 1560, since that is closest to where the Ewa tower joins the rest of the structure.
