We are visiting America for our first overseas holiday September 2013 to see Disneyworld. We are staying in LA at the start of the trip and going to Universal Studios there. My son however is a big Harry Potter fan so we HAVE to go to Islands of Adventure. Was just reading through here and I am worried about lines for rides, shops etc. We don't want to go to the other Universal park in Florida as we are already going in LA. Should we be considering a stay here or could we just purchase a fastpass for Islands of Adventure for the day? We were already considering staying at CoCo Keys for this part of the trip (once we leave Disney).:confused3

I doubt you will need an Express Plus pass during September as that's not generally a busy time. One day theme park tickets are expensive and discounts for them are few and far between so keep that in mind. Staying onsite is nice but again September is not really a time when you'd need to spend the money and stay for a night. You'll have to do the math and you know what your budget is so I'll leave that to you. ;)

the last week in september towards the weekend, could be the start of more peeps in the park.

avoid the weekends when you go to ioa.

less crowds during the week.

Thanks for the advice :) Handy to hear that we wont need to stay there to beat the crowds :) We will definantly visit mid week now and travel plans are looking like we will be going there in the first week of September!
