I'm Taking my family (wife and Child age 12) to Disney World
for the first time. We are staying at Coronado Springs from
12-13-03 to 12-18-03. What am I in for as far as the
resort I picked as well as weather and crowds????

I can't help you out with your question but wanted to welcome you to the boards!

WELCOME!!!!!!

Have a great vacation!

The weather that time of year can be ..in a word .. changeable! We were there in late Dec/ early Jan last year and were wearing gloves and hats. Other years it has been in the 70s and very pleasant. You should take a jacket for the evenings even if it is mild during the day.

The crowds should be ok the first part of your stay. As you get closer to Christmas and kids start getting out of school, the crowds will build.

I have never stayed at CS, but I have friends that stay there every trip. They say it is beautiful and feels quiet and calm because it is spread out around the lake.

Crowd wise, you have picked the perfect time to visit Disney. Crowds should be minimal...by disney standards. Take advantage of early entry days and fast pass.

Weather wise...you will most likely have warm days/cooler nights.
Bring a light weight jacket or sweatshirt...or buy a holiday sweatshirt there to wear in the early mornings or evenings.

The pools are heated...so don't forget your swim trunks.

The coronado springs is a fine disney moderate resort...we have stayed once, visited many times to go the the restaurant...Mayan Grill. The rooms are your basic hotel room.

Enjoy!
