HI
We are traveling from Australia, Our family of 2 adults and a 5 year old, Staying at the New York Hotel, Does anyone have any tips ideas on
- Getting the best room
- Are there kettels in the room with Tea ? can you buy Milk ?

Do you pay extra for the Character breakfasts ?

Can you sort out breakfast times on the train over ?

What are they times of Bfast ?

Any money saving tips ?
Thanks

You can pay to have a character breakfast in cafe mickey, but I personally don't think its worth it. The breakfast in hotel New York is lovely and already included. There will be characters in the lobby near the lifts every morning for meet and greets. They change every 30 minutes or so.

They will give you breakfast cards for certain time slots. We usually have breakfast around 7.20, so we could be in park by 8.00am and enjoy EMH.

There are several Aussies hitting the park in the next few months if you drop in to the Australian Board. When are you going? From what I have read on here, supply of kettles depends on where you are staying but if not in room in your hotel, you can usually obtain them from reception eg in the cheaper Disney hotels for payment of a small bond though I have read HNY just ask at reception and they will provide - kettles in room generally are not standard in France-its us Aussies that are amongst the most spoilt with this!

Milk is sold in the on-site shop (where you can buy snacks etc too) or there is a mini supermarket (more like our 7-11 I think) in the train station that sells milk, yoghurt etc or a bigger supermarket in the shopping centre at Val dÉurope (1 train stop away from Disney's Marnee la Vallee). There is heaps of info on these boards-just search the threads for some of your key questions.

Hi !! When are you visiting Disneyland Paris ?
Hotel New York is a very good choice ! You do have characters in the lobby in the morning, the queue goes pretty fast. You also have characters in the breakfast room if you have a certain type of room (can't remember the name).

Staying in a Disney hotel you will be able to go earlier in the parks for the Extra Magic Hours. One of the parks will open earlier that day for Disney hotel guests, so you should have breakfast according to that.

If you wanna buy things for breakfast, one stop of RER (regional trains) away you have one of the biggest shopping centre (Val d'Europe) in France where you will find everything you need. Especially if you want to experience a bit a french food shopping !

For money savings, I would avise you to take snacks with you, as they're kind of expensive in the parks.

You will be about 35-40 minutes away from Paris by train. Be careful because you have 2 train sations in the same building !! One is RER, regional trains, for Paris and the shopping centre. Purchase tickets only from the machines or the desk. The second station is the TGV one (high speed train) that can take you to Charles de Gaulle Airport in 10 minutes.

I am sure you will enjoy your time here as the parks are beautiful. Be aware that french people can seem rude, but they usually don't really mean to be, they're not very confident with speaking english !!!

Is it best to Book restaurants now or is it possible just to turn up

there is a day time parade in the main park, and one in the Studios (the parade times are about 3 hours apart). Theres also fireworks/lazer/lights/water fountain Dreams show over the Castle in the main park every evening.

No night-time parade though.

You can book restaurants at 60 days before you arrive, but you don't need to at DLP - a week or 2 before you go will be fine. If you want to eat at a specific restaurant at a specific time, its best to book in advance.

thanks for that

Now to think about booking a resturant ? I was hoping to wait and just decide on the day, but may have to look into that ?

Aussie Wendy Do you know the link to the Aussie board ? Thanks

If you go to Global Neighbours, Other Lands, then there is Australia, Hong Kong Disneyland and Tokyo Disneyland. The Australian boards are full of very welcoming, lovely folk (like the Paris boards but not like (sometimes at least) the US boards!!)

Can any one tell me the likelihood of when Dreams might show in mid May (we overlap Aussiesonholidays!) Unfortunately we are there Mon-Fri and I am presuming that given its a quieter time they won't open the park late enough to run Dreams (given sunset is getting late by then). I am thinking maybe they'll run it Fri-Sat or Sun only which means we'll miss it unfortunately.

Dreams is on every day until September so you'll definitely get to see it!

no, they will keep the main park open for Dreams in the dark - thats exactly what they did last May, all month long :goodvibes. You're looking at possibly 10.30pm or 11pm for Dreams to start every evening in May this year.

Thanks-I just realised this got posted twice-my apologies. I thought I tagged it onto another query last night and then didn't see it today and as posted two close together thought maybe it hadn't timed and gone up so sorry to post the same question twice guys. Stupid me - I had posted it as a new thread-too much (paid and stressy) work is frying my brain at the moment! I need that hol to Disney!!

Dreams! is scheduled for park closing every night until September as part of the extended 20th Anniversary celebrations. Last year the park closed at 10.30 PM in May.

Here is a link to the closing time for May 2012.
