first time visit- resort advice

BC is lovely, however, I tend to recommend a MK/monorail resort for a first visit if it's in the budget. IMHO, there is nothing like seeing MK and the castle from your resort. I would consider the Grand Floridian - it has a lot of good restaurants and activities plus the monorail and walking path to MK.
I totally agree with what Marthasor has posted. You can monorail, boat, or walk from GF to the Magic Kingdom. You have a plethora of great places to eat. The Poly is a five minute walk from GF and also has wonderful places to eat. (With little ones maybe 10 minutes.) The kid's pool is zero clearance and a great place to spend time for the whole family. You have a white sandy beach area too. There are movies and marshmellow roasts each day and best if all Cinderella and Prince Charming decend the Grand Staircase each dayat 3:00 to meet and greet. (Pre-covid). GF also has Bippity Boppity Boo on the second floor. The spa is also fun and they have a few things for the littles if yoou want something different than a park day.

You never know about pool time. We used to go in January when the kids were little. One year we had to break out the winter coats for a few days (in the 40s F); and the warmest that entire week was only in the 70s F (my kids still swam). Another year we had weather in the upper 80s all week, and no rain that entire week. It was wonderful. We stayed at AKL and loved it! That is the favorite resort for our family.
