I've booked 3 days at DL, May 31 - June 2
Sat will be DL
Sun will be DCA
Mon will be DL - we need to leave at 4pm

I've never used LLMP before, and honestly it wasn't in my budget for this trip either but I just did it anyway.
What are the best tips for making the most of it?
We will be using child swap for some rides as the two kids don't really like the more intense coasters and the youngest isn't tall enough for a couple of them.

I want to see Fantasmic on the Sat and WOC on the Sunday.
We will be rope dropping all 3 days, with a break on the Sat and Sunday likely for a swim in the hotel pool (we are across the street at Desert Inn) and stay until close.

Been to DL before a bunch of times but last two trips didn't buy the LLMP and before that paid for Max Pass or used the free FP

Best tips for LLMP: book your first attraction after scanning into the park and then modify it to a later time in the day (after swim break), set a 2 hr alarm on your phone after booking 1st LLMP so you have a reminder to book your 2nd LLMP, repeat modifying return time, book 3rd LLMP after 2 hour fuse. Return to parks in late afternoon/ evening and utilize stacked LLMPs.

If you are staying offsite and rope dropping, I would consider switching starting parks to DCA on Sat and DL on Sunday as you will avoid being behind the onsite EE guests.

Thanks, OK so I may change the dates based on the EE info you have given - thank you!
As for the LLMP, really ? Am I not at a risk of them running out if I wait until the afternoon to use them? I keep reading about people trying to get LLMP and having nothing left.

You are planning two trips at once - one to WDW and one to DLR, right? They work very differently.

yes, at WDW we won't be using the LLMP only for our DL days we have it.
I'll have to watch some videos, maybe it is the WDW that sells out ?? Cause I know I've seen videos of them saying it's 10am and no LL are left until 8 - 9pm at night.
I'm not expecting to know everything, but I'd like to get my money's worth.

Some of the LLs will run out at DL, primarily on a few of the popular rides (Indy, Matterhorn, Space Mtn, Tiana's). So you do have to pay attention and not wait too long if there are any of those that are Must Do rides for you. Oftentimes by mid-morning to lunchtime you will see that the LL reservation times for those rides are already well into the evening and can run out if you wait much longer to get them. On the other hand, there are some LL rides that don't seem to ever run out (Small World, Buzz, Star Tours) so those ones you can wait until much later in the day to reserve without too much worry of not being available.

Think of it like making a dinner reservation. You are not at risk for it running out if you go on the app at 8 am and make a reservation for a 3 pm ride. Then you wander the park and go on rides as standby because it is relatively calm in the morning. Two hours later, at 10 am, you go on the app again and make a reservation for a second LL ride at 4 pm. At noon, you make a reservation for a ride at 5 pm, etc. After your break or after lunch, when the park is more busy, you can use those LL passes that you have accumulated and go on several rides back to back to back with little to no wait.

  1. Book your first LL immediately when you scan in (park does not have to be officially open yet), as this starts the 2 hour block out
  2. Modify the time of the LL if it is too early in the day when stand by line is short enough
  3. Set alarm for 2 hours later, to book the next LL.
  4. Book something (anything!) every 2 hours (or less, if you use the prior LL); even if you don’t want to ride it or the time is not good, just book it and then modify it. This keeps the 2 hour clock rolling all day, without a gap
  5. Never CANCEL a LL, always MODIFY it (to a different time (earlier or later) or a different ride in the same park). If you cancel, the 2 hour block out time resets to when you cancelled it. If you modify, the 2 hour block out time starts and stays at the time that you book that LL originally.
  6. Refresh, refresh, refresh to get a better time or a better ride or to get a ride that looks “sold out” for the day (they almost always pop back up as available if you refresh often)
  7. Don’t let a LL expire unused, as it is then considered “used” and you can’t book a LL for that ride again that day. MODIFY!!
  8. If you can’t remember when you are eligible to book the next LL, try to make a LL for any ride you haven’t done yet, and it will give you an error if it is too early to book, and it will tell you the exact time you can book the next LL
  9. LLs sell out much more slowly and less often than at WDW.
  10. HAVE FUN!!!!

LLMP is very different at DL vs WDW. I would recommend searching the DL disboard for stacking and modifying LLMP posts. There are some great insights from folks who have done a good job of explaining how it works.

What do you mean by "the DL disboard"? This thread is in the Disneyland forum on DISboards.com. Seems like the right place for Wendy to ask about how to use LLMP at Disneyland.

Based on the response from LKing above it appears that the OP is planning both DL and WDW trips but is only planning to utilize LLMP @ DL. My suggestion was to search disboards for DL LLMP tips as the LLMP is completely different at DL vs WDW. My response was not intended to imply that the question was asked in the incorrect forum. I was simply suggesting that the OP search the DL section of disboards for LLMP information and not get confused with the use of LLMP @ WDW (see screenshot below).

I never heard this tip before and it is a great suggestion! Thanks!

I found it by accident one trip when trying to book too soon! But it is an easy way for me to see it. I think it may also be on the app somewhere, but since I have trouble finding it, that is my go-to strategy for getting the time right away!

OK...I know it is an older thread but I would like clarupification so I dont get screwed up next time.

1. By booking every two hours, I can accumulate more than one LL? is this what is referred to as "stacking"?
2. Keep "modifying" to boost the time ahead to where I want it to be...say move it from noon to 5:00 pm?
3. Will a LLMP automatically expire if you dont use it by the designated time, in other words, use it or lose it?
4. When modifying, do you risk that there are no longer any time slots available?

I'm trying to get a better handle of it for next time, in case I decide to purchase again. I only use it for a few things...HM, POTC (tho that ship might have sailed),
Buzz, WS (tho SR works well for me there), TSMM. Cant do coasters any more, nor spinning things. In the past, I have always had DAS so I havent used LLMP much.
Thats one reason I choose ticketed events...it's worth it to me to have limited crowds both for rides and shopping. Thank goodness the FL rides have LRT, that helps me a lot.

I appreciate anyone's tips and tricks !

I have included my responses in your message below. Hope it helps 😊
1. By booking every two hours, I can accumulate more than one LL? is this what is referred to as "stacking"? Yes, this is stacking.
2. Keep "modifying" to boost the time ahead to where I want it to be...say move it from noon to 5:00 pm? Yes you can do this if you like. It means you can “stack” rides for later when the standby lines are longer.
3. Will a LLMP automatically expire if you dont use it by the designated time, in other words, use it or lose it? Yes - if you don’t use it or modify it before the return time expires it is gone and you can’t book another LL for that ride on that day.
4. When modifying, do you risk that there are no longer any time slots available? Someone else might confirm my thoughts on this one, but I think when you’re modifying you only lose your original time if you confirm a change. Therefore if you don’t see any other time or ride that you want to change to and then just cancel the modifying process before you confirm anything you shouldn’t lose your original time.

This is correct. As long as you don't accept the change, you keep your original time.

When you “modify”, you can move the time earlier or later than your existing time, depending on what is available.

Be very quick to confirm it, if you want the time, and DOUBLE CHECK the “new time” before you hit the final confirm of the change. Sometimes the “new time” changes between the selection screen and the final booking screen, when you are modifying. And the time it changes to may be very different than what you thought you were modifying to. I think this happens when you hesitate just a second, and someone else grabs that time slot before you get to the final screen to confirm the change.
