Yes, but you still need to visit the ticket booth before the end of the day to get the annual pass.

If your pass includes parking the ticket booth will usually refund it if you give them the receipt.

Is it mandatory to get the hard pass at the end of the first day. My friend is trying to do it now but there is ONE window open and the line is extremely long with no movement. She's coming back tomorrow, can she do it then?

Your suppose to do it on the day you enter the park on the e-ticket. Tell her to go to the will call/guest services window on the Disneyland side to see if that is open. They can print APs there.
